History of SUL [Indias] Ltd.

SUL INDIA LTD. was incorporated on 12th November,1980 with the Registrar of Companies, Madhya Pradesh, Gwalior under the name of Soya Udyog Pvt. limited Subsequently the company was converted into Soya Udyog Limited on 5th April, 1985 and obtained fresh certificate of incorporation on 17th April,1985. The company name was subsequently changed to `SUL INDIA LIMITED' & the Comp. obtained a fresh certificate of incorporation consequent on change of name from the Registrar of Companies, Gwalior on 25th August, 1995 The Comp. started manufacturing of Raw/Refined Soyabean & Rapeseed Edible Oil & Deoiled Cakes with an installed capacity of 60 tpd Solvent Extraction Plant and 20 tpd Oil Refinery in 1983. The Comp. gradually increased this capacity to 450 tpd of Solvent Extraction and 35 tpd of Refinery in stages with modernisation / upgradation technology. The expansion in Solvent Capacity from 450 tpd to 600 tpd & Refinery from 35 tpd to 50 tpd has been completed & started production. The Comp. is presently engaged in manufacture of Raw/Refined soyabean & rapeseed edible oil & deoiled cakes. The Solvent Extraction Plant & Refinery are located at Industrial Area, Shujalpur, Dist. Shajapur, in main belt of Soyabean producing area in Madhya Pradesh. The plant is well connected with Broad gauge Railways and National Highway. The Comp. has been growing steadily in terms of turnover and profitability year by year. The turnover of Company increased manifold from Rs. 22 Crores in the year 1989-90 to Rs. 70 crores in the year 1994-95. The Net Profit also increased from Rs. 31 lacs in the year 1989-90 to Rs. 202 lacs in the year 1994-95. The average export turnover of the Comp. during the last 3 years have been Rs. 1500 lacs. The book value of Equity Shares as on 31.03.95 is Rs. 28.90 per share. The Comp. has been paying dividends since the year 1990-91. The Comp. came in Public Issue for first time in 1985. The issue was oversubscribed by about 16 times. Subsequently the Comp. has made two Right Issues in the years 1991 & 1993 respectively which were oversubscribed. PRESENT BUSINESS At present the Comp. is engaged in the business of extraction of crude & refined oil in bulk & exporting its Soya Extract to hard currency area. The Comp. has been awarded the status of Export House by Ministry of Commerce, Govt. of India. The present installed capacity is 600 tpd of Soya Solvent extraction & oil refinery extraction capacity of 50 tpd.
