Nestled in the thar desert, the city of bikaner is


situated in northern rajasthan. Shivdeep
industries ltd. Was started in 1986, with its lead
office in bikaner. The company soon became a
large manufacturing unit under the guidance of
Mr. Shivratan Agarwal and Mrs. Sushila
Agarwal.

The company commenced business in the city


central market. All raw material from grains,
oils and massalas to dry fruits, flour, vegetable
oil and condiment are selected and purchased
from amongst in order to impact to their purity
and prime position, in fact, a different section
is devoted to this aspect of the manufacturing
process.
The three units under Bikaji group of companies are shivdeep Industries Limited, shivdeep
Food products Pvt. Ltd. And Bikaji Foods International Pvt. Ltd. There are about 5000
workers/employees in the company. The production takes place on a large scale. To provide
its customers with the best quality and taste of Bhujia, The company has a well established
quality control lab.

Bikaji snacks are the talk of the town in almost the whole of India, they are already setting
tongues talking in 35 countries including the middle east, part of Africa, USA, UK and Europe.
The company was rewarded with the National awards for industrial, excellence in 1992 – the
first company to receive such an award in the category of food products.

Shivdeep Industries Ltd. Produces Bhujia, papad and sweets, shivdeep


food products pvt. Ltd. Produces potato clips and Bhujia Namkeens,

sweets Rasgulla gulabjamun.

The company has a well-knit distribution system in India. It also exports its
products to countries like Australia, Japan Singapore and Europe too.
The company’s export sales are about 5.09% of their total sales turnover
which is around 29crores The company is always trying to cater to the
ever-increasing demand for more and more variety in namkeens by l
aunching new flavors and new types of mixtures every now and then.

Oil seed crops occupy an important place in


the agriculture and industrial economy of the
country. India is perhaps the only country in
the world having the largest number of
commercial varieties of oil seeds. Mustard Oil
is also one of the major oil seeds from which
edible oil is produced. In Northern & Central
India, it is medium of cooking food. Besides it
is alsoused in preparation of Pickles. The
Mustard Oil Cake ( By Product) is used as
cattle feed.

It has enormous demand as one of the edible


oils and used as cooking medium especially in
northern, eastern and north eastern of India.
The demand of Mustard Oil is increasing with
the time. Refined Ghani, filtered, double
filtered mustard oil have given new thrust to its
market. Due to consumption in household and
in pickle industries it appears to be good scope
for establishing mustard oil industry.
Oil Pressing
Mechanical oil pressing is to extract the oil by certain oil pressing machine from the oil
material by physics pressure, all the courses are without any chemical additive. The typical
oil pressing method usually include the following two kinds, cold pressing and hot pressing.
Cold Pressing:
The temperature should be controlled between 60 ~ 70 ℃, in order to prevent the protein
denaturation or other nutrition in the oil will be easier to refine. By using this oil pressing
method, a certain oil pressing machine - cold press will be used.
Hot Pressing:
According to the heat and to extract more oil, the temperature should above 110 ℃, the oil
pressing machine - hot press can get higher output, usually 10%~15%higher.

Oil pressing often includes thress sections, they are cooking , pressing and filtering. In each

process, different equipment will be used, such as steam cooker, oil press, plate filter press.
