Additional 2% discount (total 3%) to staff members. from 01/08/11 to 30/09/11 on occasion of FESTIVAL SEASON In terms of extant guidelines, 1% discount is given to our customers/staff/bulk purchasers of gold coins. On occasion of coming festival season (Raksha Bandhan on 13/08/11, Parsi New Year on 19/08/11, Ramzan Id on 31/08/11 & Ganesh Chaturthi on 01/09/11), it has been decided to offer additional discount from 01/08/11 to 30/09/11 as under: a) Additional 1% discount to customers/non-customers (bulk purchasers i.e. purchasing 10 or more coins at a time) i.e. total 2%. b) 1% discount to non-customers (other than bulk purchasers), currently no discount is given to non customer. c) Additional 2% discount to staff members i.e. total 3%. All branches are requested to display a suitable NOTICE prominently in branch premises for the information /awareness of the customers. All non-POS branches are requested to arrange to put details regarding nearby POS branches also (with full address) for the information of customers. All POS branches are requested to arrange to make suitable plan so that maximum numbers of gold coins are sold by them during this period. Further, we may inform that the Bank has also introduced 50gm gold coin. Branches are requested to assess the response of the customers and forward the same to their Regional Office for onward submission to our office, so that in future, order for 50gm gold coins may be placed accordingly. Zonal/Regional Heads are requested to ensure that sufficient stock of gold coins is available at all potential branches and wherever warranted arrangement be made to move inventory from low potential branches to high potential branches. Further, we have been receiving feedback from our customers that branches are taking undue time in delivering gold coins to customers. This may be due to taking out gold coins from vault as and when customers approach for purchase. To serve the customers satisfactorily, we suggest

that based on daily average sale of gold coins, sufficient coins may be taken out from vault in the morning and may be kept in lock and key with Joint Manager/concerned official of the branch. A pro-active effort by all would certainly boost the sale, which in turn shall also help the Bank in increasing share of non-interest income.
