Fire Water Demand for Two Major Fires Simultaneously

(For locations with aggregate storage capacity > 30,000 KL as per OISD 117)

1. Floating Roof Tank Protection

Data:
- Total Storage Capacity: 21,980 m³
- No. of Tanks: 5
- Capacity per Tank: 4,396 m³
- Tank Diameter: 20 m
- Tank Height: 14 m

Cooling Water Flow Rate

Tank on fire (T1103): 159 m³/hr
Tanks within (R + 30 m): 475 m³/hr
Tank beyond (R + 30 m): 53 m³/hr
Total Cooling Water: 687 m³/hr

Foam Water Flow Rate

Rim Seal Area = 48.27 m²
Foam Solution Rate @ 12 lpm/m² = 34 m³/hr

Supplementary Hose Requirement

Hydrant Streams: 144 m³/hr
Monitor Streams (HVLR): 456 m³/hr
Total Supplementary: 600 m³/hr

Total Floating Roof Tank Requirement

687 + 34 + 600 = 1321 m³/hr

Total Design Fire Water Flow Rate

Design Case (Two Major Fires Simultaneously): 1321 + 1815 = 3136 m³/hr

Fire Water Storage Requirement

Storage Requirement (4 hours): 4 x 4176 = 16,704 m³

Tank Storage Provided

Gross Capacity: 17,462 m³
Working Capacity: 16,818 m³

Fire Pump Details

Main Fire Pumps: 5 Nos @ 840 m³/hr each
Standby Fire Pumps: 2 Nos @ 840 m³/hr each
Total: 7 pumps

Jockey Pump Details

No. of Jockey Pumps: 2 Nos (1W + 1S)
Capacity: 210 m³/hr (5% aggregate capacity)
