SOURCE OF WATER FROM TUBE WELL:
We need to tube well to getting the source of water continuously and
with stand the life of pump

RAM WATER STORE IN STORAGE TANK AT BASEMENT
LEVEL
Raw water tank is located in basement level and water is fed from tube
well 1 and tube well 2. By using floater switch control the water level is
maintained constantly

CALCULATION OF WATER QUANTITY REQUIREMENT

Available Overhead Tank in our building having the capacity of

nearly 85000 liter we have taken into account average water
required,
Average water required = 33 Gallons per day per person
Total people will occupy in building = 1100 Nos.
Water required for 1100 persons = 1100 x 33= 36,300 Gallons per
day
Since 1 m3 = 264 Gallons
Water Tank Capacity in m3 = 36300 / 264 m3
= 137 m3
Daily water consumption is 1,37,000 litre per day
CALCULATION OF WATER QUANTITY REQUIREMENT FIRE
PROTECTION SYSTEM
According to NFPA, we have to stagnating the water in the sump
continuously, for emergency time. We have store the water in the same
sump with plumping quantity requirement
Fire Water Tank Calculations for sprinkler remote area
Using NFPA Fig 11.2.3.1.1 Density Area Curve we select Ordinary 1
Hazard Curve.

Parking Type of Hazard: Ordinary Group 1

Sprinkler protection area: 130 ft2
Area of Sprinkler Operation = 1500 ft2
Density: 0.15 gpm /ft2
Flow from Sprinklers = Area of Sprinkler Operation x Density
= 1500 x 0.15 = 225 gpm.
Fire Water Tank Calculations for Fire hose reel system
In our building we are having 60 hose reel,
We use NFPA 13 table 11.2.3.1.2 (Hose Stream Allowance) to
calculate flow requirements of Fire Hose reel system in Fire
Fighting.
In Ordinary hazard occupancy using below table flow shall be 250
gpm (Combined hose).

Total water required for Fire Fighting System = Sprinkler Demand

+ Hose Reel Demand
= 225 gpm + 250 gpm
= 475 gpm (Gallons per
minute)
For ordinary hazard we need water for 60 minutes’ duration.
Therefore, fire water tank should have reserve for one hour
(60 minutes).
Therefore, fire water demand = 475 gpm x 60 min
= 28,500 Gallons
= 28,500 / 264 m3
= 107.95 m3
Rounding off, Water Tank Capacity shall be 110 m3

Basement water Tank capacity requirement:

Availability Overhead tank, we have taking the peak hour usage of
water in the building.
850 people x 75 litre = 63750 ( for 3 hours)
1 hour requirement = 21250 litre
Round off = 25000 litre
For plumbing purpose, need of water in basement = 25 m3

Total quantity of basement storage tank capacity = 110 m3+ 25 m3

=135 m3
COLD WATER SUPPLY TO OVER HEAD TANK AND
FIRE POINT:
Raw water is being stored at main sump and the storage capacity is
135000 liters. Floater switch provision has been placed at main sump for
which 110000 litres storage water is maintained constantly. The
buffering for floater control is leveling up to 25000 liters from the top
level.
From the main sump water can be supply to Over Head Tank, Fire
Hydrant system and Fire sprinkler System. Both fire pump and water
supply pump has been placed and working in auto mode conditions.
Requirement of storage treated water:
Fire Hydrant system: 65000 liters
Fire sprinkler system: 65000 liters
Cold water supply system: 25000 liters
Tank : RCC TANK
Capacity : 85000 Ltr
Water supply pipe: UPVC DN60 -TYPE 1000
Pipe Brand :
Pump : Centrifugal vertical pump – 2Nos
Pump Brand :
Function Type : Synchronizing Type working at 20 minutes interval
of each pump with floater switch control.
Pump capacity : 6 lit/sec -12 to 16 bar
COLD WATER DISTRIBUTION TO ALL THE BATH
ROOM:
Water is being distributed from OH tank to all the toilet rooms and
maintained with permissible pressure. The building consist of 26 floors
& 1 BASEMENT, pressure has been maintained by the provision of
PRV system at every twenty meter to maintain the 80psi

trap in all apartments and collecting through the common shaft and
direct to the public drain

Storm water collecting through the common drain pipe and direct to the
public drain

SEPERATION OF SEWER LINE & WASTE LINE:

In the basement level to separate the path of Sewer line and Waste line.
Waste line directly connecting to the public drain and the sewer line
connecting to the Sewer treatment plant, nearly 80 to 100 meter cube per
day and after the completion of recycling process, connecting to the
public
SEWAGE TREATMENTPLANT WORKING SYSTEM
Sewage and waste water are transferred from collection pit to Sewer
treatment equalization tank. By using transfer pump sludge water is
transferred to anaerobic tank, by overflow it is transferred to anaerobic
media. Methogenic play an indispensable role in anaerobic treatment
waste water. And then the water is transferred to aeration tank, by
operating aeration pump the bacterial process occur in the presence of
oxygen and finally transferred to clarification tank. By using sludge
return pump the final sedimentation of sludge is sent to equalization
tank.
COMPLETION OF SEWAGE TREATMENT WATER
FILTRATION PLANT SYSTEM.
Sewer treated water is being treated through sand filtration and carbon
filtration to totally improve the quality of water, turbidity, color and
remove odor and finally transfer to the public drain
