Interview Questions and Answers for an English Teacher

1. Can you tell us about your journey to become an English teacher?

I started learning English when I was very young, and I really enjoyed it. Later, I studied
English at university and realized I wanted to help others learn it too. I started teaching
in schools and found that I loved working with students. Over time, I have gained more
experience and grown in my career.

2. What do you enjoy most about being an English teacher?

I enjoy seeing my students improve and feel more confident when they speak or write
in English. It makes me happy when they understand something new or when they use
a new word correctly. Teaching is not always easy, but it is very rewarding.

3. What is one challenge you have faced as a teacher, and how did you overcome it?
One big challenge was moving to online teaching during the pandemic. At first, it was
difficult to use new programs and keep students interested. I took some online training,
talked to other teachers, and slowly became more comfortable with technology.

4. How do you use technology in your classroom today?

I use many tools like PowerPoint, online quizzes, and videos to make lessons more fun
and interactive. Sometimes we use apps for vocabulary or grammar practice.
Technology helps students learn in different ways and keeps them engaged.

5. What do you think about using AI in education?

AI can be very helpful. For example, AI can correct grammar, give writing suggestions,
or help students practice pronunciation. I think teachers should learn how to use AI in
smart ways, not to replace teaching, but to make learning better.

6. How has your teaching changed because of new technology?

Before, I mostly used books and paper. Now, I often use online tools, games, and
digital activities. Students can also learn from home. Technology has made my lessons
more creative and flexible.

7. What advice would you give to young people who want to become English teachers?
Be open-minded and patient. Teaching is not just about giving information. It’s about
helping people grow. Also, keep learning new things—especially about technology and
new teaching methods.

8. What are some new trends in English teaching today?

Some new trends are blended learning, where we use both online and in-person
methods, and personalized learning, where we adapt lessons to each student’s needs.
There is also a lot more use of games and videos to teach English in fun ways.

9. How do you help your students stay motivated to learn English?

I try to use interesting topics, group work, and real-life tasks. I also give them positive
feedback and show them their progress. When students feel that learning English is
useful, they try harder.

10. What is your dream for the future of education?

I hope that education becomes more equal and that all students, no matter where they
live, can have access to good teachers and learning tools. I also hope that teachers
continue to receive support and training to do their job well.
