CHAPTER 1

INTRODUCTION

1.1 Introduction
Social media posters are a great way to promote content, events, products, or
messages across digital platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. These
posters grab the attention of users while they scroll. These are made to get attention,
share ideas, information or to promote products. Good social media posters are made
with bright colors, nice pictures and short text. In this project I made a poster of a
body spray from AXE, which is a grooming brand for men. In this poster I tried doing
something different from the usual kind of posters they make.
1.2 Motivation

AXE is a globally renowned brand, celebrated for its bold and energetic identity.
Designing a poster for such a vibrant label was both exciting and creatively
rewarding. The Twist variant, in particular, distinguishes itself with its evolving scent
profile—shifting seamlessly from a fresh burst to a deeper, woody aroma.

Creating a visually striking poster was an opportunity to enhance the product’s appeal,
draw in new audiences, and reinforce brand loyalty. The creative challenge lay in
capturing the dynamic essence of the fragrance within a single static frame. This inspired
me to explore bold color contrasts, atmospheric effects, and experimental layouts to truly
reflect the spirit of AXE and bring its twist to life.

1.3 Objective

The poster design's main goals are to:

i. Meet Task Expectations: Follow the design specifications and brand standards
to meet the assignment requirements.
ii. Develop Visual Appeal: To make the poster out, use dynamic features,
contemporary fonts and vivid colors.
iii. Reflect Brand Identity: Ensure that the poster reflects the image of the ax, which
is one of the boldness, youth and confidence.

4
iv. Communicate Product Details: For potential buyers, prominently show the
name of the product, the main features, and call the action.

CHAPTER 2

BACKGROUND STUDY

2.1 Challenges:

Some of the challenges I faced while working on this project are –

i. Content Clarity: The product details had to be clear to without disrupting

the design
ii. Visual Hierarchy: Prefer elements such as product image, logo and
lesson for easy readability.
iii. Design Balance: Balancing visual and text to avoid congested or empty
places.
iv. Color Coordination: Choosing colors reflecting the bold beauty of the
product while maintaining readability.
v. Font Selection: Choosing fonts that matches the boldness of the brand.
vi. Brand Consistency: Ensuring the design follows the established visual
identity of the product.
vii. Audience Engagement: Drawing the attention of a young, trend-
conscious audience.
viii. Technical Constraints: To meet the resolution and file format
requirements for social media.

CHAPTER 3

REQUIREMENT SPECIFICATION

I have used some specific software and materials for my project. These are the programs I
used for my project.

7
3.1 Adobe Photoshop

Adobe Photoshop is a graphics editing software, developed and published by Adobe Inc. for
Windows and macOS. The software has become the most used tool for professional digital art,
especially in graphics editing. Photoshop can edit and compose raster images in multiple layers
and supports masks, alpha compositing and several color models. Photoshop uses its own PSD
and PSB file formats to support these features. Its features set can be expanded by plug-ins.

3.2 Hardware specifications

To ensure efficient design workflow, the following hardware was used:

 CPU: Ryzen 5600G (6 cores, 12 threads, up to 4.4 GHz).

 RAM: 16 GB DDR5 @ 3200 MHz.
 Storage: 512 GB NVMe SSD for OS and design files.
 GPU: Integrated GPU (Vega 7)

CHAPTER 4

WORK PROCESS

4.1 Thought Process

8
The workflow was divided into three stages:

1. Collect Elements: Gather resources like images, fonts, and brand guidelines.
2. Production: Create the poster using Photoshop, layering elements strategically.
3. Post-Production: Finalize the design with adjustments and export for
submission.

4.2 Collect Elements

Resources were sourced from:

 I was given the AXE bottle image as without the background in png format.
 For inspiration I went to PINTEREST.
 For the other elements I used here I got them Google search.
 To know deeply about the product I went to AXE website.

9
4.3 The elements I have used for the poster design-

I started by taking a canvas that was 2048 pixels in both width and height.

After I am done with my work, I saved my Photoshop file for submission and exported it
as Portable Network Graphics (PNG) for further use. I made my canvas to 1:1 so it will
be suitable for social media . The final poster—

CHAPTER 5

DISCUSSION

5.1 My Own Evaluation

This project taught me how to make a visually appealing poster that balances aesthetics
and functionality. Major lessons include

 Clarity is important: Poster effectively communicates by prioritizing the clear

message.
 Visual hierarchy: The strategic placement of elements naturally directs the
audience's eye.
 Brand Alignment: It was important to authenticity to follow the bold and young
identity of AXE.
 Technical skills: Mastering a photoshop tool such as smart objects, blending
mode and filter enhances the quality of the design.

Challenges include selecting images that express the dynamic nature of fragrance without
congestion to layouts. Careful planning is required to balance lessons and scenes to
maintain a clean design. It was also important to choose a well -known fonts matching
AX's modern aesthetics.

The poster effectively embodies the dynamic spirit of the AXE Body Spray Twist variant,
using bold visuals that resonate with its intended audience. Moving forward,
enhancements could involve integrating motion graphics for digital platforms or
incorporating interactive user feedback mechanisms to boost credibility and engagement

ABSTRACT

Social media posters serve as a dynamic medium for brand storytelling, and this design
for the AXE Body Spray Twist variant seeks to embody its bold, refreshing, and ever-
evolving character. The Twist variant stands out with its signature ability to transform
scent profiles over time—starting with a crisp freshness and gradually unfolding into a
rich, woody aroma. I conveyed this transition through the dual-toned lighting in the
background, symbolizing the fragrance’s evolving nature.

This poster is crafted not just to reflect the standout feature of the scent transformation
but also to showcase the product’s sleek packaging and modern charisma. The vibrant
energy embedded in the design speaks to the confident, trend-savvy audience the brand
connects with. It invites viewers to not only see the scent but to feel it—sparking
curiosity, confidence, and the desire to experience the twist.
