Read the story below and answer the questions that follow. One day, a poor woodcutter saw an old woman in the forest. She was very hungry and she asked the woodcutter for some food. The woodcutter only had a piece of bread but he gave it to the woman. The old woman thanked the woodcutter and went on her way. After a while, the woodcutter saw an old man sitting under a tree. The old man said to the woodcutter, Please give me some water. I am very thirsty. Here you are. Drink as much as you want, said the woodcutter. The old man was so thirsty he finished all the water in the bottle. After that the woodcutter walked on. Several hours passed and the woodcutter was thirsty and hungry. He had no food or drink. Suddenly, he saw a chicken caught in a trap. The chicken cried, Help! Please save me. The hungry woodcutter thought about making a fire and roasting the chicken but he pitied the poor chicken and freed it from the trap. The chicken immediately changed into the old woman. She said, I am the chicken and I am also the old man. You have helped me three times and now I want you to have this bag. You will never be hungry or poor again. Every time you need money, just put your hand into the bag and there will be money in it for you. The woodcutter thanked the old woman and went home to tell his wife the good news. 31.
