CALL TO WORSHIP

Amy Butler Rameen Chaharbaghi Children: Prepare the way of the Lord! Prepare the way of the Lord! And all people shall see the salvation of our God! Pastor: We see him entering the holy city, being worshipped as a king. Who is this before whom we sing, Peace in heaven, and glory in the highest heaven? People: Christ our King, a ruler made known in brokenness and strength, not in earthly power. Pastor: Who is this whom we join on the road to Jerusalem? People: Christ our Redeemer, who gives life in all its fullness, even at the heart of the passion and pain. Pastor: Who is this whose name brings salvation and life wherever preached? People: Christ our Savior, who lifts our hearts in praise: Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord! Cantor: Hosanna! Hosanna! Hosanna in the highest! People: Hosanna! Hosanna! Hosanna in the highest! Cantor: Holy, holy, holy Lord God of power and might. People: Hosanna! Hosanna! Hosanna in the highest! Cantor: Heaven and earth are full of your glory. People: Hosanna! Hosanna! Hosanna in the highest! Cantor: Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. People: Hosanna! Hosanna! Hosanna in the highest! Leah Grundset

No. 47

Praise God from whom all blessings flow Praise God, all creatures here below Praise God above, ye heavenly hosts Creator, Christ, and Holy Ghost. Amen. Prayer of Dedication Leah Grundset

VOICES FROM THE CROWD A Voice of Anticipation A cheering, chanting, dizzy crowd had stripped the green trees bare, and hailing Christ as king aloud, waved branches in the air. Homily Living the Moment Mark 11: 1-10 Amy Butler Caroline Armijo

A Voice of Celebration They laid their garments in the road and spread his path with palms, and vows of lasting love bestowed with royal hymns and psalms. Homily Living the Moment John 12: 12-13 Amy Butler Jodi Smith

A Voice of Questioning When day dimmed down to deepning dark the crowd began to fade, til only trampled leaves and bark were left from the parade. Homily Living the Moment Call to Confession Mark 11: 15-18 Amy Butler Encroaching Darkness Edgar Palacios

Prayers of the People and Lords Prayer Edgar Palacios Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen. Assurance of Pardon Edgar Palacios

A Voice of Wonder Lest we be fooled because our hearts have surged with passing praise, remind us, God, as this week starts where Christ has fixed his gaze. Homily Living the Moment Mark 12:28-31 Amy Butler Draping the Cross

A Voice of Invitation Instead of palms a winding sheet will have to be unrolled, a carpet much more fit to greet the king a cross will hold. Homily Mark 14:17-25 Leah Grundset

Living the Moment Sharing Communion Please depart during the final hymn, taking communion at one of the stations on your way out of the sanctuary. In this way we follow Jesus our Savior into the week ahead. We take bread and juice, along with the words of blessing, to sustain us for the coming days. Go in peace.
