Digital Story Process

Monday 11/7: Intro to Photo Story 3 & Begin Research Tuesday 11/8: Research Topic Wednesday 11/9: Finish Researching & Pick Pictures Thursday 11/10: Put pictures into Photo story, add a title & begin putting a sentence w/ each picture Friday 11/11: Continue adding a sentence to say with each picture, think about music Weekend: Figure out what sentence will go with each picture if not already done Monday 11/14: Begin recording narration with pictures; Pick music while waiting to record Tuesday 11/15: Continue recording narration with pictures; Pick music or practice while waiting Wednesday 11/16: Continue recording narration with pictures; edit/review if done Thursday 11/17: Listen to other stories see if you have suggestions; final edits Friday 11/18: Final copy done

Research Look for important details/dates for your topic Be thinking of about 4-6 important things that you will need to mention Remember to include what it has to do with Heritage Day Pictures Look for 4-6 pictures that represent your topic Remember that you only have 30 seconds Wikipedia is a good place to get pictures to use - http://en.wikipedia.org Save the pictures in your folder in My Documents Place your pictures in Photo Story in the order you want them Photo Story 3 Open the program 1. Begin a new story - click next 2. Click Import Pictures 3. Choose the drop down menu by Look In to select your folder and then your pictureschoose them in the order you want them to be in your story 4. Flip the pictures around using the green arrows 5. Edit the pictures if needed (crop, etc.) 6. Click the Next arrow to add a title (only on the first picture) 7. Choose any Effects for each picture 8. Save Project Save In your folder in My Documents

Sentences to be Narrated After youve chosen you pictures and put them in Photo Story Photo Story 3 Open the program 1. Edit a story click next 2. Find your story you saved in your folder in My Documents 3. Click next until you get to the part where you Narrate your pictures 4. As you click on a picture you can type the sentence that you want to say in the box on the right 5. Save Project when you are done Recording the Narration After you have typed in a sentence for each picture, practice saying your sentences. When you think you are ready to record your sentences, ask Miss Brown for a microphone Click on the red Record button to start recording. When you are done talking click the Stop Go to every picture and Record your narration You can preview and change any section that you think needs to be redone Music When you are all done with your narration, or you are waiting to record your narration Listen and chose music from 6thGrades Music Folder - the best choice for your topic When youve decided on your music choice Photo Story 3 Open the program 1. Open saved project from your specific folder 2. Click next until you get to the screen that lets you choose music Click on Select Music and go to 6thGrades Music folder 3. Select the volume that is appropriate 4. Click Preview to hear your story with the music Finalized Copy When you are ready to be all done and create the final copy of your digital story

Photo Story 3 Open the program 1. Open saved project from your specific folder 2. Click next until you get to the screen that lets you Save your story 3. Click Browse to choose your folder 4. Click Next to save
