SCHOOL POLICY
FOUNDATION OF
THE SCHOOL AND
TEACHERS’
DISCIPLINING
ACTIONS
The school, primarily, is a
place for active learning,
information gathering and
skills training that are essential
to a child’s integration to the
adult world.

It aims to develop and to


teach moral character,
personal discipline, civic
conscience, vocational
efficiency, andduties of
citizenship.
The school as zone of
peace, (DepEd Order
No. 44, s. 2005),
provides the special
environment for the
formal, mental,
emotional, and moral
growth of the young.
Article 349 of the New Civil
Code provides among others
that teachers shall exercise
substitute parental authority
to their students.

Futher,the law provides and


assigns them that the legal
authority of natural parents
in a substitute capacity.
Pursuant to Section 1, Chapter
III, Part IV of 2000 DECS
Service Manual, every school
shall maintain discipline inside
the school campus as well as
the school premises when
students are engaged in
activities authorized by the
school.
As stated in Paragraph 2,
Section 6.2, Rule VI from Rules
and Regulations of RA 9155 as
mentioned in DepEd Order No. 1
s. 2003, the school head shall
have authority, accountability,
and responsibility for creating
an environment within the
school that is conducive to
learning.
Thus, the school officials
and teachers shall have
the right to impose
appropriate and
reasonable disciplinary
measures in case of minor
offenses or infractions of
good discipline.

Firm, fair, consistent, and just is
the foundation of an effective and
efficient institution.

The philosophies and objectives of


Malasila National Vocational and
Technological High School are
realized if the students obey the rules
for the orderly conduct, exercise self-
control, show consideration of the
rights of other individuals and accept
the consequences of their acts.
UPRIGHT
DISCIPLINE
OF
CHILDREN
DO No. 40, 2. 2012, section 3,
paragraph P. “Positive and Non-
Violent Discipline of Children” is
a way of thinking and holistic,
constructive and pro-active
approach to teaching that helps
children develop appropriate
thinking and behavior in the
short and long-term and foster
self-discipline.
CODE OF
BEHAVIOR
1. Students who feel that they are
wrongly blamed or misunderstood
must give their explanations to the
teacher concerned privately after
classes or during vacant time of the
concerned individuals. They must do
it respectfully and never publicly or
defiantly.
When asked to answer
question in a class, a
student must stand
properly and answer
clearly and respectfully.
No student is allowed to
leave his or her classroom
without expressed
permission of the subject
teacher.
A student is not allowed to
leave the school during school
hours unless being pulled out by
his or her parent or guardian
with duly signed pull out slip by
the class adviser noted by the
school head to be submitted to
the school guard.
Students are
expected to respect
all persons in
authority.
Students are forbidden to
write on walls, desks,
tables, and other school
property, nor destroy or
deform or steal school
properties.
Loud, forced and boisterous
laughter and other sources of
disturbing noises are not allowed in
the campus during class hours or
even break time. Gadgets, guitars
and the like should only be used
when class or school activities
require for such.
All students must refrain
from bullying (quarreling,
ridiculing and fighting) or
being accomplices to
misconduct in and out of
the campus.
All student officers, (e.g. SSG,
Scout, and Legitimate Club
Officers) are expected to be
models in deportment for
other students to emulate
and to help enforce school
policies and rules.
Students are
discouraged to play ball
games inside the room
while the teacher is not
around or during lunch
break.
Students must avoid or
prohibit themselves
from dating or
displaying indecent act
inside the school
premises.
Students are prohibited
from playing computer/
video games, playing
cards and the like
during class hours.
Students are
prohibited to engage
in gambling inside
and outside the
school.
Students are prohibited
from showing or
playing pornographic
videos and photos in
the school premises.
Students are not allowed to
leave the campus during
activities such as club
culminations and the like.
Active participation must be
manifested by every
student.
Students are not
allowed to catch
and bring spiders
for spider fighting.
Students are prohibited
from smoking cigarettes,
drinking liquors and
taking illegal drugs inside
and outside the school
vicinity.
Any gross or
scandalous
behavior shall
be avoided.

and staff, and/or persons in authority
using deadly weapons
• possession, sale or use of deadly
weapons and ammunitions and all
forms of explosives
• hazing or paddling that is an act that
injures, degrades, and defaces
students
Serious Offenses:
• bringing reinforcement for brawls in
physical injury
• bringing to school intoxicating drinks
such as beers, liquor, wine, and/or
any alcoholic beverages
• coming to school under the influence
of intoxicating drinks
• engaging in drinking alcoholic
beverages in school and/or in its
immediate vicinity
Serious Offenses:
• possession of cigarettes and smoking
in school and/or in its vicinity
• engaging in immodest acts such as:

⚬ kissing
⚬ necking and petting
⚬ and other indecent public display
of affections
• forging signature of parents or
guardians in school requirements
Serious Offenses:
• any form of gambling in the campus
and/or its immediate vicinity
• willful insubordination of persons in
authority
• withholding information during formal
investigation
• on dangerous drugs

⚬ coming to school under its influence
⚬ peddling or pushing
⚬ distributing
Serious Offenses:
• enlisting, recruiting, engaging in
activities with pseudo fraternies and
sorrorities, gangs, and similar groups
• extortion
• stealing school property or personal
property of the students and other
personnel
• any offense analogous to any of the
above
