IMPORTANT DATES

A note from the desk of Mrs. Harabedian

Our PTO Board Member ballot is not quite ready for a general vote so it will be sent in your envelopes next week. I thank all who agreed to accept a position on our 2012-2013 Board. Remember that the board members are the facilitators of our fundraising events that keep our tuition at less than half of most private schools. Beyond that, there is a significant difference between our school and schools that dont have a parent involvement. I recently visited a school that no longer has a parent organization or CYO sports teams. It didnt happen suddenly but began with parents who were unable to commit to the extra time. Families began to feel less connected to one another and the traditions of working together became vague memories. At St. Rita School, the teachers, staff and I cherish parent involvement that is the foundation of the loving community we share with you. Your participation brings ownership and a good understanding of what it takes to maintain a working partnership between home and school. I appreciate all of the time and talent you so generously extend to our school. And we do it all for the children.

ST. RITA SCHOOL HOSTS TRACK MEET The Raider track team dominated the eighteen team "Raider Relays" at Bishop Amat on Sunday. They took First Place in Varsity Boys, Varsity Girls, B Boys, B Girls and Novice Girls and a Second Place in Novice Boys. The Overall Championship Trophy went to the Raiders as well.
Many thanks to our "Sea of Gold", the 50+ parents and former students who took admission, ran field events timed races, prepared ribbons and medals, tabulated scores, escorted athletes and controlled access to the track for the 2000+ athletes and spectators. Also, thank you to Ms. Carnighan and Mr. Hagen for spending hours running around town (literally) with our distance runners. They have helped that group of athletes post considerably improved times through the season. Mr. Nelson, Mr. Barber and Mrs. Nardoni have also been invaluable as the main conditioners for all of our athletes. We owe the success at the Raider relays to all of you. Thank you
