The SSP Board of Directors, Annual Meeting Program Committee and Education Committee are pleased to present the program for the 34th SSP Annual Meeting, Social, Mobile, Agile, Global: Are You Ready? You'll find a wide range of important scholarly publishing topics in the pre-meeting seminars, keynote, plenary and concurrent sessions, and discussion roundtables. The SSP Annual Meeting is the focal point for those engaged in scholarly communication. By bringing professionals together in an open exchange of the newest technical and industry related information, the meeting provides the highest standards in professional communication. Early registration ends on Friday, May 4, 2012, and special hotel rates apply until Wednesday, May 9, 2012, so be sure to make your plans soon to join us in Arlington.

Registration Form Completion


Online registration is easy at www.sspnet.org. If you prefer to register by mail, be sure to print out the Registration Form, complete all sections, and return it to SSP via fax or mail. Complete one form per registrantphotocopy as needed. Phone registrations are not accepted. Please indicate your session preferences so we can place the session in an appropriately-sized room. Tickets will not be issued for these sessions, and seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets will be issued for the pre-meeting seminars and are required for admittance to these events. Some seminars have limited capacity; register early to ensure your participation. Students must include a copy of their student identification with their Registration Form in order to receive the student registration rate. If you are under 18 years of age, a parent must sign the parent/guardian consent on the Registration Form.

General Information
Please take a moment to review the following registration policies and procedures to avoid any delays in your registration processing for the 2012 Annual Meeting.

Early Bird Discounts


Registration forms submitted via mail must be postmarked on or before Friday, May 4, 2012 to receive the discounted fees. Registrations submitted via fax or the Internet must be received by 11:59 pm (Mountain Daylight Time) on May 4, 2012.

Registration Fees
Registration for the SSP Annual Meeting includes general sessions, concurrent sessions, entry to the Exhibit Hall, conference materials, breakfasts and lunches on Thursday and Friday, and receptions on Wednesday and Thursday. One-day registrants may attend the aforementioned events for that day only. The pre-meeting seminars on Wednesday require separate registration. The fees for these events are listed on the Registration Form. Registration fees are based on your SSP membership status. Your membership must be current or in process to receive the member registration rates. You may join or renew at the same time you register for the meeting.

Payment
Payment in full must be submitted at the time you register. Fees may be paid in U.S. dollars (payable to SSP) by check, American Express, VISA, Discover, or MasterCard. Registrations received after May 18, 2012 will be processed on-site, and your name will not be included on the attendees list.

Please choose only one of the following methods to register for the 34th SSP Annual Meeting: Via the Internet: Register online at www.sspnet.org. By fax: If you are paying for your registration with a credit card, complete the printable Registration Form and fax it to 303-422-8894. This number is available 24 hours a day. By mail: Send your completed Registration Form with payment to SSP, 10200 West 44th Avenue, Suite 304, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033-2840. On-site in person: If you are unable to register before the May 18, 2012 deadline, you may register on-site at the Registration Desk.

Registration confirmation will be sent to all registrants within 10 business days. If you do not receive confirmation, please call the Member Services Department at 303-422-3914.

Accommodations, Travel Assistance and Transportation Options


The 34th SSP Annual Meeting will be held at the Marriott Crystal Gateway, 1700 Jefferson Davis Highway, Arlington, Virginia. Newly renovated, the hotel offers exceptional accommodations, complimentary WiFi in the lobby and multiple dining options. The hotel is surrounded by Arlingtons best shopping and dining at the Crystal City shops and The Fashion Centre at Pentagon City. The Crystal City Metro stop can be accessed from the lobby, allowing guests to reach the best museums, monuments and attractions in the surrounding area. The Marriott Crystal City is conveniently located one mile from Washington Reagan National Airport (DCA). A special rate of $245 single/double (plus applicable taxes) has been arranged. The reservation cut-off date is Wednesday, May 9, 2012; thereafter, the hotel will accept reservations on a space-available basis only at the current market rate.

Cancellation and Refund Policy


Written requests for registration refunds or cancellations must be dated on or before May 4, 2012. Annual Meeting registrations will be refunded less a $50 processing fee. Applicable refunds will be processed following the meeting. No refunds will be made for requests submitted after May 4, 2012. Refunds will not be made for no-shows. SSP reserves the right to cancel any event due to insufficient registration or any unforeseen circumstances.

Badges and Meeting Registration Materials


Attendees who register in advance may pick up their badges and registration materials at the Registration Desk. At that time, you will receive valuable information about your annual meeting participation, including ribbons, tickets (for applicable events), the final meeting program, the Exhibit Hall guide, a location map with names of meeting rooms, and other SSP information.
