Questions
1 - What do you understand by Wisdom and Strategic Vision? Especially from a Prophetic
leadership perspective.
Wisdom means using knowledge with kindness and good judgment—knowing what to do, when, and

In Prophetic leadership, these traits show up as patience, trust in Allah, and choosing peace and fairness
over pride or revenge.
2 - Explain why Wisdom and Strategic Vision are critical in personal, professional, and spiritual
leadership. Mention their role in making ethical decisions and creating lasting impact.
Wisdom helps me make good choices that last. In personal life, it stops me from reacting too quickly.
At work, it helps build trust and direction. Spiritually, it keeps me focused on doing what’s right.
These qualities help leave a positive impact that goes beyond just today.
3 - Select any five powers of Wisdom and Strategic Vision that stood out to you. Rank them in
the order of personal significance to you.
1. Using knowledge to take the right action.
2. Making smart choices during tough times.

Questions
Case Study 1 – Reflection Questions

I try to pause before reacting and choose peace instead of trying to win arguments. Once, I
let go of a disagreement, and it led to a better outcome.

I explain my reasons clearly, listen to feedback, and stick to the decision if it’s fair and good
in the long run. Often, time proves the decision was right.
3. Am I prepared to believe in a vision that others have yet to recognise?
Yes, I stay patient and keep working toward the goal. Prayer and small steps help me stay
focused until others see the value too.

Case Study 1 – Journal Prompts

1. Reflect on a time when exercising patience or making compromises resulted in

wisdom?
I avoided a public argument and chose a private talk instead. It saved the relationship and
taught me that wisdom often means staying calm and listening.

react less to keep things peaceful.

people can adjust. I also focus on shared goals and show care for others’ concerns.

Questions
1 - In a time where charisma often overshadows character, do you believe Virtues Matter More Than
Ever for sustainable and meaningful leadership? Explain your choice

Yes, virtues matter more than ever for sustainable and meaningful leadership. Charisma may attract people
for a short time, but it is virtues like honesty, fairness, humility, and wisdom that build lasting trust. True
leadership is sustained when character guides decisions and inspires people beyond appearances.

2 - How does practicing the Five Pillars of Islam shape a leader’s character and contribute to the
development of an “inside-out” model of leadership?

Practicing the Five Pillars of Islam shapes a leader’s character by building discipline, sincerity, and humility.
Prayer nurtures patience, fasting develops self-control, zakat teaches generosity, and Hajj fosters unity and
equality. Together, these pillars create an “inside-out” model of leadership, where inner spirituality guides
outward actions and decisions.
3 - What does the Prophetic model teach us about leading the self before leading others, and how have
you experienced this principle in your own leadership journey?

The Prophetic model teaches that self-leadership comes first, as one must practice patience, honesty, and
discipline before guiding others. By controlling the self, a leader becomes a role model. In my own journey, I

found that when I stayed calm and fair, it inspired others to act the same way, proving that leading the self
strengthens the ability to lead others.
4 - How challenging is it to balance competing values? What core practices can help overcome those
challenges?

Balancing competing values is often challenging because choosing one may seem like neglecting another.
However, practices like reflection, seeking wise counsel, prioritizing ethics, and keeping the long-term vision
in mind help overcome these challenges. Patience and fairness ensure that decisions remain balanced and
meaningful.
5 - Describe a situation where you struggled to balance two competing virtues. What helped you find
alignment?

A situation where I struggled to balance two competing virtues was when I had to be honest with a student
about their weak performance while also being kind to maintain their confidence. I wanted to point out their
mistakes so they could improve (honesty), but I didn’t want to discourage or hurt them (kindness). What
helped me find alignment was focusing on encouragement first, appreciating their efforts, and then giving
constructive feedback. By framing my honesty positively and with empathy, I could balance both virtues
effectively.

6 - What are the 2 virtues you are currently working to embody more intentionally in your life, and
what practical steps are you taking to live them consistently?

Two virtues I am currently working to embody more intentionally are patience and discipline. For patience, I
practice being more mindful in my interactions, especially when situations don’t go as planned. I take a
moment to pause, breathe, and respond calmly rather than react impulsively. For discipline, I maintain a
structured daily routine, setting clear goals for study, work, and personal growth. I track my progress and
hold myself accountable, which helps me follow through even when motivation is low.

2. Explain why Wisdom and Strategic Vision are critical in personal, professional, and spiritual
leadership. Mention their role in making ethical decisions and creating lasting impact
These qualities help me choose the right path instead of the easier or more tempting one. Wisdom and
vision protect me from short-term thinking and help me focus on lasting good. Whether in life, work, or
faith, they ensure my decisions are ethical, trustworthy, and impactful. A leader without wisdom may
succeed for a while, but only wisdom and vision create a legacy that benefits others long after.

3. Select any five powers of Wisdom and Strategic Vision that stood out to you. Rank them in the order of
personal significance to you.

Wisdom Translates Knowledge into Right Action : Because knowledge alone has no value unless applied
wisely.

Strategic Vision Inspires Hope :Hope gives strength to continue in hard times.

Wisdom Enables Sound Judgment in Crisis :I want to remain calm and fair under pressure.

Strategic Vision Prioritizes Purpose in Planning :It keeps me focused on meaningful goals, not just daily
tasks.

Wisdom Enhances Moral Courage :It strengthens me to stand for what’s right even if it’s unpopular.

Legacy of Virtue Leading with Prophetic Character

(Chapter 15)

Questions
1 - In a time where charisma often overshadows character, do you believe Virtues Matter More Than Ever for
sustainable and meaningful leadership? Explain your choice
Yes, virtues are the foundation of lasting leadership. Charisma may attract people, but without honesty and
integrity, leadership cannot survive.

2 - How does practicing the Five Pillars of Islam shape a leader’s character and contribute to the development
of an “inside-out” model of leadership?
They shape leadership from within: prayer builds discipline, fasting teaches control, and charity creates
generosity. These practices remind me that leadership is service, not power.

3 - What does the Prophetic model teach us about leading the self before leading others, and how have you
experienced this principle in your own leadership journey?
It shows that self-control and character come first. If I cannot manage myself, I cannot guide others.

4 - How challenging is it to balance competing values? What core practices can help overcome those
challenges?

strengthened my team’s unity.

practical steps are you taking to live them consistently?
Patience – I pause before reacting.
Courage – I take on tasks I once avoided
