Rock Trommel Plans

The design goal focused primarily on developing a low profile trommel for the purpose of
separating dirt from river rocks, while utilizing commodity parts.
This document illustrates a majority of parts and assemblies (i.e., some miscellaneous parts,
like nuts, bolts and washers are not documented), while the following videos provides
construction guidance.

The drive wheel key does not fit the Keyed Shaft. Two options are provided below, which will
resolve this issue for this application.

Drive Wheel Key: ¼” x ¼”

Shaft Key: 3/16" x 3/16"

Option 1: Use a 3/16" x 3/16" Key, which will fit loosely


(as shown) in the Drive Wheel.
