Opening: The regular meeting of the UOIT Engineering Students Society was called to order at 6:00 on March 22, 2012 in UA 1140. EngSoc awards: finalized awards with Schneider Electric giving away prizes. FYIC materials for the rope that McMaster used. (really good build competition) March 31, TOC training. Trying to push a $15 in 2014 for O-week swag. (Hard hat, etc) Marketing technique for O-week using Twitter, Facebook, feedback,

Nooner: very successful for a social event. Tuesday Pub Nights - Minuet to win it games at Shags (played a role in the nooner)

EngBall: called to book the venue in March 24. Put deposit down, waiting for tickets

Bus comes every 20 min starting @ 530. Games include blackjack, roulette, horse racing, war Posters for ENG BALL Casino Royal theme is official. Date is on March 24. Possibly come up with dollar chocolate coins or poker chips. DJ booked Price for a ticket - $20. Need 4-5 Volunteers to run the games (1.5 hrs) Prizes include - $100 for ASME, (cooler, t-shirt, wine glasses) prizes for scavenger hunt winners. Talking to Clayton (Schneider Electric) for prizes EngSoc awards. Maybe a movie voucher, small gift card Giving gift cards away for winners, going to have a main draw (raffle) for a blackberry playbook. Janelle

Talk to EngSoc student complaining about TAs dating students. Send out an email to remind them to keep professionalism between students and TAs. Finding a contract. Next survey is a feedback from academic and program advisors. Mentorship program: Meet with Deans and are ok with the idea. Event consists of a first year student paired up with a third year. Create a new position on the EngSoc to coordinate and reply to messages. Need about 150 mentors (have 12) Please sign up to become a mentor. Professional Development Day. Submitted an event form for an event with volunteers, unknown date March 31st. Possibly create a Web-CT (Blackboard) engsoc page.
