Im Josh, a first year medic, and Im running to be your Vice President.

It has truly been a pleasure getting to know our members since being elected as Freshers rep and I hope to continue to work for you in this new role. Why vote for me? In the last year I believe that I have shown my commitment to this society by becoming a committee member, attending 100% of committee meetings and almost all social events. Being the only current committee member running in this election means that I could ensure a degree of continuity between this year and last year and ensure that knowledge gained is not lost. I believe that I am friendly, approachable and have a good work ethic which means that I will get things done promptly. I am determined to build on the build on the previous successes of the Society and make it an inclusive group that members can be proud of. What have I done for the Society? The events I have been responsible for organising have been far more varied than I had imagined and these included: The annual Christmas meal, Come Dine With Me, our first Freshers event and a Karaoke night. This year I have frequently met new members before events if they wished to do so and this is something which I plan to continue to offer. What are my pledges for the future of this Society? If elected I will: Pledge support to the President and members. Commit to the continued success of the parenting scheme. Liaise more closely with other LGBT societies. Continue to represent freshers until a new rep is elected in November. I aim to improve accessibility to new members and freshers during Freshers week by running a well organised stall at Freshers Fair with clear information stating how members can join if they are too nervous to approach the stall. To set up society Twitter account (and perhaps one with a discrete name) so that members or potential members who arent out on Facebook dont miss messages or news of events.
