“Everybody Can Be Great, Because Everybody Can Serve”

This quote is given by Martin Luther King Jr. In all means in this quote; by giving that definition
of greatness, it means that everybody can be great, because everybody can serve. You don't have to
have a college degree to serve. You don't have to make your subject and your verb agree to serve.
As long as we serve, we make everyone happy.

From us student’s perspective, service to the community is something we do because we are

required, or because someone else “needs” them. We in Community Service argue that they need it
just as much or more than the community they are serving. Engaging in community service provides
us students with the opportunity to become active members of our community and has a lasting,
positive impact on society at large. Community service or volunteerism enables us students to
acquire life skills and knowledge, as well as provide a service to those who need it most.

By volunteering, we students develop life skills and become well-rounded individuals. Starting
young provides an opportunity for us students to learn and grow into valuable members of society.
We develop life skills as we get immersed in activities that are outside of our comfort zones.
Volunteering offers us the opportunity to apply our classroom learning to practical scenarios that have
real implications.

On March 5, 2022, all NSTP students or those who are part of the CWTS were task to
participate in the community service and ask to assemble at school exactly 7:30 in the morning . Our
group was assigned in cleaning the back area of the school RCVMCFI. The area was the training
ground of the Criminology students, and by that, we bring sacks and hauled the trashes in the
designated area. A proportional value of 12 sacks of trash we have gathered. As we have done in
cleaning our designated area, we first sanitize our hands, make sure everything is good and tidy, and
then took a rest and gathered by group to pass our schedules in that day’s work. Us students were
given the responsibility of cleaning the area so that it would be clean. Us students were dispersed
throughout the school, ensuring that the community service would be completed quickly. You can see
everyone was determined on what to do what they need to do, even though some areas are directly
exposed to the heat. They continue to do the tasks that have been assigned to them and that’s us.

Participating in community service allows students to become active members of their

community and has a long-term, positive impact on society. Community service or volunteerism
allows students to gain life skills and knowledge while also providing a service to those in need.
Assisting others is not only good for them and a nice thing to do; it also makes us happier and more
productive.

Moreover, Community Service is essential to us students. We can say that volunteering is truly
good to our health. It makes us feel good inside and gives us a higher sense of purpose, which can
motivate us to live better.
