Team “Pretty Face” from BEED 1 Section 1

“Build, Educate, Inspire, Empower and be the change” a line from the famous
philosopher Plato, we exert this quotation in our introduction as a citizen of our country
because we can do a big difference in every action we made. This action may result
negative and positive impact to others and it can change the routine of our generations.
So, our role as a youth citizen of our country is to change what’s is bad in our society.
As per required on our curriculum this 2st semester, we are required to undergo
the NSTP (National Service Training Program). According to our instructor “NSTP”
refers to the program aimed to enhance civic consciousness and defense preparedness
in the youth, by developing their ethics of service and patriotism while undergoing
training in any of the two program components, the Civic Welfare Training Service
(CWTS) and the Reserve Officer’s Training Corps (ROTC), especially designed to
enhance the youth’s active contribution to the general welfare. CWTS where in it
designed on contributory the general welfare and betterment of life for the members of
community or enhancement of its facilities, especially those devoted to improving
health, education, environment, safety, recreation and morals of the citizenry.
Last March 5, 2022 in 9:00 am in the morning we had a community service at
school campus and Kibawe. They bring residents closer to an understanding of the past
and help to provide insights into how people within the area used to live. By looking in
the surroundings of Kibawe, it surrounded with garbage strewn all around. So our
instructor in NSTP decided to do a community service to keep the place tidy. Our group
was assigned in cleaning the back area of the school RCVMCFI. The area was the
training ground of the Criminology students, and by that, we bring sacks and hauled the
trashes in the designated area. A proportional value of 12 sacks of trash we have
gathered. As we have done in cleaning our designated area, we first sanitize our hands,
make sure everything is good and tidy, and then took a rest and gathered by group to
pass our schedules in that day’s work.
We realized that community service is important for many reasons. Nor we can
help to ease the work of other people, but we realized that is a unique opportunity to
use what was taught in class in a real-world setting, to experience an increased cultural
awareness and an appreciation for diversity. It is a great chance for us to be kind and
build relationships with others. It makes us being a responsible citizen and with right
conduct. And it provides us with opportunities to use newly acquired skills and
knowledge in real-life situations in the communities. Our experience during the
community service teaches a lot on us. We learned to become independent and face
the responsibility being task on us. We learned to respect life and to become a good
model to help the community to preserve. The community service opens my eyes to
many things and reality and will cherish this experience to become a better person.
