Welcome to Fleet Hires first holiday edition of Fleet Matters - Holiday Matters. As the 2012 holiday season is now upon us weve put together some useful hints & tips to help you prepare for those long journeys to the sun (hopefully!) - UK or Europe. We're also announcing our partnership with Thule and there are some great competitions for the journey, so please read on. We hope you enjoy this new edition, and please remember we're here to assist if you have any questions about the support available to you when on holiday with your Fleet Hire vehicle.

Documents Required
A VE103 or Vehicle on Hire Certificate is required by drivers who do not hold the original Vehicle Registration Document (V5) i.e. drivers with hire or lease vehicles. This can be requested from our web site www.fleethire.co.uk 14 days before you travel - the first 200 receive a free NF Breathalyser - with our compliments.

For a bit of fun we would love to receive photos of your Fleet Hire car while on holiday. There are two categories to enter: Most Spectacular Photo and Furthest Distance Away from Fleet Hires HQ in Solihull. Summer/Holiday Driving in the UK or Europe 2012


It is important that when you are using your vehicle for holidays in the UK or Europe that you prepare your vehicle accordingly and you have the correct documentation for travelling in Europe. We have put together a quick check list to help you with this: Make sure your vehicle is serviced according to the manufacturers recommendations

That your tyres meet the legal requirements and are adjusted to the correct pressures Make sure all your lights are working including brake lights and if travelling in Europe make sure your lights are set for the
countries you are travelling in

Be mindful that the height of your vehicle increases when a cycle rack or roof box is fitted Check all fluid levels including oil level before you start your journey Check you have all relevant documents - see Documents for Travelling in Europe Section Carry loose change for tolls in Euros or the relevant currency Have a First Aid Kit in your car Take regular breaks when travelling on long journeys Check that your childrens car seats are correctly secured
