2NE1 (Korean: ; two-ehn-ee-one) The name 2NE1 combines the phrases "21st century" and "new evolution", and

is pronounced "twenty-one" or "to anyone". They first appeared in "Lollipop", a commercial campaign with Big Bang for LG Electronics, and their debut single "Fire" was released on May 6, 2009. Since then, the group has released two extended plays, 2NE1 and 2NE1 2nd Mini Album, and one studio album, To Anyone. Their first EP, 2NE1 spawned the number-one single "I Don't Care", which won them the "Song of the Year" award from the Mnet Asian Music Awards. Their follow-up singles, such as "Go Away", "Lonely" and "I Am The Best" were similarly successful, with "I Am The Best" winning 2NE1 their second "Song of the Year" award. 2NE1 officially debuted in Japan in September 2011 with a mini album titledNOLZA, which contained re-made versions of their Korean songs. Since then, the group has released one mini-album, one studio album and two physical singles in Japan. Representing South Korea, 2NE1 emerged as the winner in the voting competition for "Best New Band in the World", which was an international competition held by MTV Iggy. The band was officially crowned the winner on November 10, 2011. The Fanclub of 2NE1 is called Blackjack, which is a reference to the card game Blackjack, also known as Twenty-one. 2NE1's official color is Hot Pink and their official fanlights are shaped like white-winged spades. 2010: Return to group activities, and To Anyone On February 9, 2010, without previous notice, "Follow Me" (Korean: " ", "Nal ddara haebwayo") was released to digital outlets and used as a theme song for Samsung Corby Folder. The album contains 12 tracks, including three title songs, namely "Clap Your Hands" (Korean: " "), "Go Away" and "Can't Nobody", which were promoted simultaneously. 2NE1 won first place on Mnet's M! Countdown for "Clap Your Hands" on the day of their comeback, followed by a K-Chart win the next day on KBS Music Bank for "Go Away", and a Mutizen a week after their SBS's Inkigayocomeback for "Can't Nobody." Overall, 2NE1 won first place eleven times on various music shows. To promote the album, the group made its first entertainment show appearance as a group on KBS variety-talk show Win Win. 2NE1 also aired the second season of 2NE1 TV. On October 21, Yang Hyun Suk announced that 2NE1 would be releasing a follow up song on October 31, later revealed to be "It Hurts (Slow)" (Korean: "").[30][31] It was first performed on SBS's Inkigayo. The music video is directed by Kim Hye Jung, the same director for G-Dragon's "Butterfly." The music video was released on November 1 and was themed for Halloween. On November 26, 2NE1 released the single "Don't Stop the Music" as a "special gift for Thai fans". 2011: Korean Comeback and Japanese Debut On February 2, the "Can't Nobody (English Version)" music video was made available for download through iTunes Japan. On February 22, Avex announced that 2NE1 will release their Japanese debut single "Go Away", previously used as a Korean promotional single, as a ringtone on March 9, 2011. It was later announced to be the theme song of Japanese television program Mezamashi TV. On March 16, the group released 2NE1, their first extended play, in Japan, with no promotions because of the Thoku Earthquake and tsunami. It debuted at #24 on the Oricon charts, selling 3,860 copies. On June 24, 2NE1 released a single produced by Teddy Park at midnight, titled "I Am The Best". Within 24 hours of release, "I Am The Best" topped all the major Korean charts, except for Monkey3 where the song was ranked second. As the day progressed, the song ultimately became first and was certified as a "perfect all-kill". On July 21, 2NE1 released their animated music video, "Hate You", directed by Mari Kim, which also topped various Korean charts, peaking at #3 on the Gaon Chart. On July 28, along with the release of the full mini-album, the single "Ugly" and its music video were released, and again "Ugly" topped all major Korean charts. 2NE1 became the first Kpop artiste in history to release and reach five straight "all-kill" singles. After concluding Korean promotions for their second mini-album, 2NE1 made their official debut in Japan in September 2011. They kicked off their official debut by releasing their mini-album, NOLZA. 2NE1 also released the Japanese version of "Go Away" on November 18, 2011 in three versions, following their late 2011 Japanese album and promotions. 2012: Japanese album, American Debut, Overseas Activities and Korean Comeback On March 28, 2012 2NE1 released their first full-length Japanese album titled Collection along with their second Japanese single "Scream They have recently collaborated with legendary Japanese hip-hop group M-Flo for the single "She's So (Outta Control)". The song will be featured in M-Flo's upcoming "Square One" album. The group is currently working on their American debut album with will.i.am which will be released sometime in 2012. On March 9, 2012, DJ Poet (who is also working on 2NE1's American album)released new information regarding 2NE1's first U.S. single. Later that year, she had her first stage debut at Seoul Broadcasting System's Music Awards alongside her label mates at YG Entertainment. Park Bom (Korean: , Japanese: ) (born March 24, 1984), is a South Korean idol singer. Born in Seoul, South Korea, she eventually moved to the United Stateswhere she learned English. Starting in 2006, Park recorded with labelmates Big Bang, Lexy, Masta Wu and starred with Lee Hyori in her CF, "Anystar" as a co-actress. Later in 2008, she starred as the lead actress in Kim Ji Eun's music video, "Tell Me Once More". In 2009, she debuted with 2NE1 as the main vocalist. Up till now, Park has released two solo singles, namely "You and I" and "Don't Cry". Park Sandara (Korean: , born November 12, 1984), better known as Dara(Korean: ; Japanese: ), 2004 2007: Career beginnings In 2004, Park was involved in a talent survival show, known as Star Circle Quest of theABS-CBN Network where she came in 2nd place behind Hero Angeles. In addition, Park has embarked on a musical career that eventually led to the release of her self-titled six-track album which spawned the novelty dance hit "In Or Out", a song that parodied her experiences on Star Circle Quest, and "Walang Sabit", the jingle for Rejoice Shampoo. Solo activities Before her debut, she was featured in a TV drama The Return of Iljimae as Rie, and she also appeared as the lead actress in Gummy's music video for "I'm Sorry", together with labelmate T.O.P, one of the members of Big Bang. In August 2009, Park was featured on G-Dragon's solo album Heartbreaker, with their song entitled "Hello". They performed together a couple of times on music events, shows, and also during G-Dragon's two-day solo concert entitled Shine A Light in December 2009. On September 7, 2009, Park was the first among the members of 2NE1 to release a digital single. Entitled "Kiss", the song was produced by Teddy Park and was featured in Park's first commercial for Cass Beer along side K-Drama actor Lee Min Ho. They made two versions of the music video. . The Return of Iljimae is a Korean television drama series broadcast on MBC in 2009. Synopsis The story is about a man fighting against the selfish and corrupt government to save the ordinary peasants. Iljimae was abandoned by his birth father and adopted by a Chinese couple. He returns to Korea to find his birth family and realizes how unjust the world really is. He watched as his first love, Dal Yi, was wrongfully put to death. Iljimae then vows to help the commoners from the corrupt government officials.
