KEEPING YOU INFORMED OF UPCOMING ACTIVITIES WHILE ADDRESSING THE NEEDS OF THE WRIGHTSVILLE PLACE HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION (WP) (HOA)

WALKING STEPS AROUND THE OAK TREES The Board had an arborist examine the two giant oaks on the property. The conclusion is: they are in distress. One recommendation to reduce soil damage caused by foot traffic is to put walking steps/pads connecting the back units to the Community center.

Memorial Day Weekend BBQ - Meet your Neighbors! The HOA Board would like to invite the residents of WP to a Meet your Neighbors Barbecue [Noon Saturday - May 26, 2012 - at the Pool] The HOA will serve hamburgers, Italian sausage, hot dogs and soft drinks. Feel free to bring a dish. st The 1 rain date is Sunday, May 27. The 2nd rain date is Monday (Memorial Day) May 28, 2012. This is the 2nd Annual WP Barbecue!

WEBSITE
The BOD investigated establishing a Community Website. Costs ranged from several thousand dollars to a one-time expenditure of two hundred dollars. The two hundred dollar website should be up and running shortly. -----------------------------------------NUMEROUS AUTOS HAVE BEEN BURGLARIZED AND ONE INCIDENT OF AUTO VANDALISM HAS BEEN REPORTED TO THE BOD. PLEASE KEEP ALL VALUABLES OUT OF YOUR VEHICLES, DOORS LOCKED AND REPORT SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITIES TO THE POLICE. POWERWASHING AND DECK STAINING

The HOA will begin power washing all units and decks. When that is completed, all decks and privacy fences will be stained. More will follow on the times and dates scheduled.

-------------------------------------TRASH AND REFUSE

The Board believes the WP TRASH AND REFUSE area is being used as a dumping area by non-residents and is considering measures to curtail this illegal practice to include installing surveillance cameras.

Security Measures
Prior to the recent spate of burglaries, vandalism and trash dumping, in February 2012, the BOD began investigating an electronic card swipe system for accessing the pool and clubhouse, in addition to other security and surveillance measures. The pool opens May 1 and is open 7 days per week from 6 AM to 8 PM. For now, the pool gate CODE remains 253. The BOD has ordered new chairs, chaise lounges, tables and umbrellas for the pool area. Expect delivery within two (2) weeks.
