Why we celebrate.

The Monarchs Message

My fellow Prophets, I would like to happily welcome our newest prophet into our Cinema group: Worshipful Ralph Morton. Without question, Prophet Morton is going to keep us our on toes with his quick wit and endless smile. Welcome Brother! July will be a very busy month for Cinema Grotto. On July 4th, we will be participating in a parade with the brothers from Old West Masonic Lodge. Be sure to wear your Fezs and your Grotto shirts to the event. Dont forget to bring your family too! We will also be starting our yearly BBQs at the United Cerebral Palsy homes in Sylmar, which take place on July 8th and July 29th. Chief Justice Dan Hood is leading the events, and has done a fine job so far. Last year, the BBQs were very successful, and fortunately, many prophets came in support of our Grotto and for the residents at the homes. The residents look forward to the BBQs, and are all smiles when we arrive. We should be having a couple more BBQs in August and September. If I dont see you at one of the events this month, I hope you make it to the next meeting on July 25th (cough cough, my birthday). If you want to get me something for my birthday, come to at least one of the BBQs. Its a gift we all will enjoy, and far better than any material object. Happy Fourth of July to everyone!

On the Road...with our Secretary

Prophets, Let me start by mentioning that my friend, prophet and fellow Venture Camper, Lew Bickerto, recently passed away at home. May you rest in peace, dear brother. On my road trip, we stopped at Abbas Grotto, located in East Peoria, Illinois. As always, a good time was had amongst my fellow prophets. Its always worthwhile visiting a fellow Grotto. I believe that our Monarch will especially enjoy the picture of Abbas social center - see below! I hope everyone has a happy Independence Day! More travel notes from the road to follow!
