Spider Glazing principle: Point-fixed structural glazing systems are the ideal solution for architects striving to achieve maximum light and transparency within large areas. The underlying principle is simple: holes are drilled in the panes of glass, which are then attached directly to a load-bearing structure using specially designed metal fittings. The joins between the panes of glass are sealed with a silicone mastic, sometimes supplemented with extruded seals.

Spider Glazing supports: Depending on the choices made by the architect, the point-fixed structural glass wall can be supported by different types of structure : steel frame, structures made of stainless steel cable, glass beams, structures incorporating cross-braces, etc.

Glass used for spider glazing: The system featuring monolithic or laminated glasses, is distinguished by its ability to cope safely with extremely large panes of glass, although size does depend on external stresses.

When high levels of thermal or solar control performance are required, sealed double glazing technology can be incorporated into point-fixed structural glazing offering the light characteristics and appearance of point-fixed structural glazing combined with the performance of a top insulating double glazed unit.
