For our focus group we had 3 boys and 3 girls, so had a total of 6 participants for our session. Having an equal number of males and females is useful as the answers we recieved from our session represented both males and females, which is good as our target group was both males and females.

How old are you?

13-14 15-16

Having an equal number of each age group was very helpful, as it allowed us to have a wide range of opinions from different age groups rather than just focusing on one age group, as our target audience was from 12 28.

What would you rate the video our of 10?

As the results show, the majority of our focus group rated our film 7/10. As this is our first time creating a short film, the 7/10 rating was very pleasing for us.

Was the genre of our short film?

All of our focus group agreed that our films genre was clear.

Describe the protagonist in a few words?

This question cannot be transferred into a chart as it is qualitative data meaning it is descriptive. Some answers we received for this question ranged from: - Arrogant - Clumsy - Funny - Romantic Overall the descriptions of our protagonist were positive and come across how we was trying to portray Bobby.

What do you think the weakest part of our film was?

Again this was qualitative data however, we was able to put this in a chart format as the majority of the focus group had similar reasons as to why they thought the film was weak:

The majority of members in the focus group were in agreement that our actor Arran Sharma, was the strongest part of our film with one saying he was excellent at engaging the audience within his acting. This comment wasnt added into the filming as there wasnt a prompt question which prompted the members in the session to talk about the actors acting skills.

Were the fonts used appropriate?

The fonts used in the opening and closing sequence as they are the first and last pieces of text the audience sees. 100% of the focus group agreed that they were clear.

Did the sound effects match the action on screen?

As a whole did the film look professional?

Again, 100% of the members of the focus group said that the film looked professional. This was a very pleasing result for as it was the first time we had created a short film.

Would you recommend the video to a friend?

This result was quite surprising for us, as within the focus group there was quite a bit of criticism towards our film regarding a weak ending. However, all of the focus group said they would recommend the film nonetheless which we were very pleased about.

Do you think the rating of the film is appropriate?

The majority of the focus group said the rating was appropriate, however, one disagreed and wrote on the questionnaire it should be higher as there was brief nudity within the film (where Bobby takes his top off).
