About Us
UCSB Adventure Programs began in 1978 as an official program of the UCSB Recreation Department, with over 50 highly qualified staff serving over 150 adventures each year. At UCSB Adventure Programs we believe that everyone can maintain a balanced, healthy, and active lifestyle given the right dose of adventure.

Ropes Course
Work on your team building skills as your group makes its way across a ropes bridge and conquer your fear of heights as you trapeze down a zip-line.

Skills Courses
Want to paraglide solo on your first day? Our courses use the only training hill in California where you can! We also offer Arial Skills, Ocean Kayaking, Canyoneering, Scuba Certification, Wilderness Medicine, and Outdoor Leadership Training courses.

Adventure Trips
First Year Outdoor Adventures (FYOA)- Meet your future UCSB classmates before the school year begins on one of our week long programs. Spring Break Trips- All ages can spend their Spring Break canoeing down the Colorado River, backpacking in the Grand Canyon or hiking at Joshua Tree. Day Trips and Weekend Overnight Trips- If you have a busy schedule but still want to fit in a taste of adventure, spend a day paddling from Goleta to SB, camping overnight in Yosemite, climbing at Idyllwild, exploring Sespe Hot Springs, and much more! *private group instruction, adventure parties, and outdoor equipment rentals by reservation only

Adventure Climbing Center

We offer indoor and outdoor progressive climbing programs to challenge every skill level. Our 30 foot main wall includes a specified bouldering section, making it the largest imprint wall on the West Coast.
