Trends in Educational Technology

Educational technology is the implementation of tools, techniques, and processes to enhance teaching and improve learning outcomes by applying senses, memory, and cognition. There are several trends in educational technology including the pervasiveness of computers in schools, the growth of networking applications, and advocacy for technology use in education reform. However, there are also challenges to the adoption of educational technology, such as affording enough computers and internet access for students, inducing educators to adopt new models, proving new models are better than traditional methods, and ensuring technology does not widen gaps between students of different backgrounds.

computers and communications be induced to adopt new
technology-based models of teaching and learning?
