Brazil is the second largest producer of GMs (37
million hectares);

Transgenic products in Brazil started in the early 90s
with crops of soybeans;

There is an increase of land planted with genetically
modified corn, cotton and soy;

71% of the first of two annual corn crops planted in
Brazil has been planted with genetically modified
seeds
