 Rice is thinly traded in
the world market,
accounting for only
5-6% of the total
world production in
2010.
 To keep pace with the
growing demand of rice in
the country, the Aquino
Government embraced the
Food Staple Sufficiency
Plan

 The Food Staple Sufficiency

Plan aims to increase rice
production, maintain per
capita consumption of rice
and increase consumption
of other staple foods such
as CORN.
The poor quality of corn
grits is one of the major
causes of the diminishing
consumption of white
corn in the country

Why there is a need to develop
a village-type corn mill?
PHilMech Compact Corn Mill
Technology Features
 Can produce good quality corn grits with higher milling
recovery
 Can be used in the production of corn grits and cracked
corn for food and feeds, respectively
 Compact yet powerful with input capacity of 300-350
kg/hr
 Low operating cost of P1.40/kg output
 Easy to operate with push bottom switches
 Simultaneous operations for sorting, cleaning and size
reduction for white corn
 Can minimize aflatoxin contamination in the corn grits
 Requires only small working area
