Point of Laying eggs

 Young chicks for this purpose are called pullets.


 Pullets are to be transported once they are 16 weeks old due to health reasons.
 At about 19 weeks, the hens are ready to start laying eggs.
 At about 25 – 39 weeks, hence reach their production peak period. At this age, they produce
almost 1 egg a day.

Lohmann Brown is one of the breeds of for laying eggs.
 At about 60 – 70 weeks of age, egg production slows down and ready to be slaughtered at
72 weeks.

Things to note before start raising your chickens:

1. Build the coop before buying chicken.


For 6 chickens: 2 – 3 square meter chicken coop
8.5 square meter chicken run (Space outside the chicken coop).
2. Do not overcrowd the chicken.
3. Get the chickens the right nutrition.
