PRACH range is from 0 to 837.

There are 838 root Zadoff-Chu sequences available for preambles.
Zadoff-Chu sequence length is 839.
A generated ZadoffChu sequence that has not been shifted is known as a "root
sequence
5. Every cell needs 64 preambles.
6. The number of Root Sequence Index (RSI) assigned to the cell depends on the
Cyclic shift Number (Ncs) for the cell.
7. RSI = (No. of Cyclic Shift per preamble x 64)/(Max number of Zadoff Chu
sequences)

Why we need Cyclic Shift: To generate the needed 64 preambles for each cell
we use Cyclic Shift.
As per Sprint National RF Design guide line, the allowed range for Macro sites is
from 0 to 680. The remaining RSIs are reserved for the Pico cells and other
applications. For the RSI, it was agreed that all the cells will have 8 Zadoff Chu

PRACH Planning
Cell range as Function of Number of RACH Root
Sequences

As an example, if cellRange is set to 13 in a cell, this means that the number

of RACH root sequences needed is equal to 8
Applying the default value 384 for rachRootSequence means that the
sequences 384, 385, 386, 387, 388, 389, 390 and 391 can be used in that
cell
Values of rachRootSequence in adjacent cells should be set so that it differs2
by at least 8
