UNDERGROUND MINING- AN EFFICIENT METHOD

There are basically two methods for mining of minerals Surface Mining
Underground Mining
While the former is required for mining upto some restricted
height, latter is supposed to dig more deep behind the
earths crust.
It depends on the type of ore being mined, composition of
surrounding rock, shape and orientation of the ore deposit,
geologic features persist underground, and economics there.

IMPACT OF TECHNOLOGY

had to go manually with shovels to make sure that the
underground air was not toxic, modern mines contain proper
ventilation, water drainage systems, high-tech

machines.

BASICS OF A UNDERGROUND MINE

A typical underground mine possess few of the necessary

drilling and blasting

Soft-Rock Underground Mining (longwall and room and pillar)
Hard-Rock Underground Mining

HARD AND SOFT MINERALS

relatively soft sedimentary rock,
while gold, diamond, copper, silver, nickel and zinc deposits
persists in igneous or metamorphic rock, which is relatively
hard.
But, no matter which type of mine is there, these basic
