Layout?
A computer lab should be easy to access and able to
fulfil its purposes classroom, learning process.
Therefore, the layout of the lab should be properly
organized and designed to fit the space provided in
the laboratory room and also suit the requirements
(according to the situation).
In this case, we are looking for a layout that eases
maintenance on the PCs without having to interfere
with the access of others in the lab.

Inverted UShape
Reasons for choosing this layout:
It enables instructor to monitor the students easily.
Minimizes the distance for the instructor to reach an
individual student if assistance is required.
Encourages interaction between students and
instructor.
Conducive layout for computer maintenance: access
to other PCs is not disturbed should a PC had to be
maintained.
Students are not easily distracted by movement by
other students who wishes to enter and exit the lab.
Emergency Exit?
Current lab layout : Only 1 exit.
We might need to provide an alternative exit in case the current
exit is blocked during emergencies or other situations which
need immediate evacuation.
The best possible way to create an exit might be constructing a
window inside the lab that connects to the outside of the building
which one can jump his/her way out in real situations.
Conclusion
For a conducive environment during maintenance, inverted Ushape design is one of the best choice as the labs layout.
A window at the wall connecting the lab to the outside of the
building should be fixed as an alternative exit to the current
existing exit in case of emergencies.
The End.
