GRANDEUR DELUSION
A fixed false belief that one possesses superior qualities such as genius,
fame ,omnipotence or wealth. It is most often a symptom of
schizophrenia but can also be a symptom found in psychotic or bipolar
disorders as well as dementia such as Alzheimers
DSM 4-TR AXIS 1(APAS Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental
Disorders)

WHY NOT GIVE THE PLATFORM?


Cause fear and panic
All people with similar cases would want the same opportunity granted
them

TREATMENT FOR PATIENT


He should be ignored since he is not causing any harm to himself or the
society. The involuntary treatment works in the case where patient is a
threat to society or himself.
Such patients tend to get depressed after been forcibly treated
Protect their self esteem when not treated
Against patient right

RECOMMENDATION
Rather than forcing the patient, an intimate relationship should be
formed, get him convinced to undergo psychotherapy

ANTISOCIAL PERSONALITY DISORDER---ASPD

ANTISOCIAL PERSONALITY DISORDER


A personality disorder characterized by a pervasive pattern of
disregard for or violation of the rights of others. Theres history of
crime, impulsive and aggressive behavior.
DSM 4-TR AXIS 2 (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders
of the APA)
Subject should be analyzed by a psychiatrist and diagnosis made.

CRITERIA FOR ESTABLISHING ASPD


EVIDENCE OF CONDUCT DISORDER WITH ONSET BEFORE AGE 15
YEARS
INDIVIDUAL IS AT LEAST 18 YEARS
NO REMORSE
RECKLESS DISREGARD FOR SAFETY OF OTHERS

NB
AN ADULT CANNOT BE GIVEN THE DIAGNOSIS OF ASPD UNLESS THEY
MET THE CRITERIA FOR CONDUCT DISORDER AS AN ADOLESCENT

WHY NOT JAIL?


No motive
Could cause harm to the inmates
So confine him

RECOMMENDATION
CONFINE TO AN ASYLUM OR PSYCHIATRY HOSPITAL UNDER STRICT
SUPERVISION AND IF POSSIBLE CONSTRAIN
