Chapter 3 Brother recalls that the lambs arent supposed to have names, only
horses and dogs are allowed to have names.
What does he mean by that? Why wouldnt a cow, a chicken, a
pig, or a lamb have a name? Write your answer in detail,
using text evidence.
What brother means by saying lambs arent supposed to have names is he means that lambs all look alike
and you dont know which lamb is which.And I think brother is just being mean and maybe trying to make
fun of him, but the Ignatious names them anyways. He said he named them,Frodo, Merry,Pippin, and
Bilbo. I know better to call one sam, because sam is my favorite hobbit in the whole story.

spends so much time fussing

Grandma spends so much time fussing with the flag at the door is because she is
praying for dad,who is in Iraq. She also does it because she wants to remember from
when dad left.And in the book it says, Grandma lets the metaled flag go, and I duck so
she doesnt know I watched.Grandma also spends so much time at the flag is
because she can not think of him alone on christmas.

military clothes or a dusty uniform.

Barb wire is still used in agriculture because in that state,there is a countryside of Illinois and
people have farms and people have horses,lambs,goats and a lot of farm animals. And they
need to keep the animals in their proper homes so they don't run away.

1. Imagine Brother in 10 years. What does his story look like? Is he in the
Army? What are his Brothers up to? What does Brother do with his life?

2. The books ends with Brother saying I know the man Im supposed to
become. Write about the type of man you think Brother will become.
I think brother would be a full out adult. His story looks like he would
get married. He would be very mature, and he might not remember the
barn from the ranch after the wildfire. And of course, he is going to miss
grandpa. And he is going to miss all of his family. Brother means by, I
know the man Im supposed to become, I think he means that, he has
already got his life planned out, and hes ready for the real world.
