Sasando is a stringed musical

instrument. This musical instrument
comes from Rote Island, East Nusa
Tenggara. Literally Sasando according
to the origin of the name he said in
Rote, sasandu, which means tools that

by two shepherds,

found by a young man named
Sangguana Ndana who stranded on

He was taken by the king at the
palace. During he stayed at the
castle, Sangguana artistic talent
immediately known many people
and the princess was hooked. She
asked Sangguana create a musical
instrument that has never existed...

... One night, dreaming Sangguana
was playing a beautiful instrument and
voice
forms.
Inspired by the dream, Sangguana
created instrument he named sandu
(ie vibrate). When he was playing, the
princess asked what song is playing,
and Sangguana replied, "Sari Sandu".
Instrument was given by sangguana to
the princess.

The main part of sasando in

long tubular sasando
commonly made of bamboo.

Initially, nine stringed sasando. Then sasando
developed and consists of two types according
to the number of strings. There sasando gong
being roped 9-10 and sasando violin roped 24
