Theme: cross cultural

Chitons were worn by both men and women. They


were made of wool or linen. Usually one piece of
fabric wrapped and draped over the body.

This garment was inspired by greek culture. It is


loose fitting and made of a lighter fabric.

Egyptian
Theme: gender/geographic location
Egyptian men and women wore makeup but was
primarily worn by women. Women wore winged
eyeliner with green/blue/gold eyeshadow.

Today it is only ideal for women to wear makeup. cat eyes
are a timeless style for eye liner often paired with a smoky
eye.

Egyptian Jewelry

Theme: designation of status/social affiliation . Both men


and women wore jewelry as decoration and a symbol of
status such as armlets, bracelets, necklaces and earrings.

Although men wear jewelry today as well, it is prominently adored


by women. This necklace was inspired by Egyptian jewelry and is
known as todays statement necklace.

Men and women wore these shoes to help better walk in the
sandy deserts. These shoes were made of leather and tough
material.

Men and women wear flip flops. This was influenced by the
Egyptian culture but is made of a different material such as
rubber.

Sumerian

Men wore these draped garments made of animal fur that hung over
one shoulder. They also wore pointed helmets and had no shoes.

Minoan

Theme: gender/sexual attractiveness

This goddess is wearing a bodice that bared the breast which was
very common among women. This was also tied with a ribbon in the
back. Hair was worn long and curly. She is also wearing a ruffled skirt.

This celebrity is wearing a long flowy lightweight dress which


also reveals her breasts with the deep v cut. This fabric displays
different and simpler qualities.

Assyrians
Theme: Social status
This man is wearing a shawl over a tunic which displays a
pattern of bright and natural colors. The shawl was usually
draped over one shoulder. This was worn by both men and
women.

This woman is wearing a long sleeve dress-like tunic paired
with a belt. The construction of this garment was made
through advanced technology and is worn only by women.

Etruscans

Wealthy women wore a chiton made of wool draped with a


long shawl. They also used colorful patterns in their clothing.

This woman is wearing a gown draped with a light-weight


sheer shawl. This fabric is a lower grade synthetic quality.

Romans

location. Roman workers wore this short lengthed light
weight fabric to help with movement and comfortability
while working.

incorporates both shorts and top.

honored in their country and resembles a since of concealment.
