METERING SYSTEM

ENGINEERING PRESENTATION
Adip Tri Cahyoko

Definition
Metering system is a set of device that used to measure
fluids that flows in a pipeline.
Metering system could be used to measure gas, liquid
or multiphase fluids that flows in a pipeline.

Background
Nowadays, measurement is be one of the most applied
science in industrial process business. Fluid trading
payment is depend on how much a kind of fluid
transferred from seller to customer. Big amount of fluid
will make a big change in money transferred from
customer to seller. So that, even small error occur in the
measurement would make big financial loss to the
company.
A high level accuracy of metering system is needed to
press the measurement losses to the smallest amount, so
that it would give small amount of financial losses too
due to the measurement.

Structure of Metering System

A metering system is consist of:
1. Piping
2. Flowmeter
3. Instrumentation
4. Validation systems
5. Separators
6. Human Machine Interface
7. Wiring and Cabling
