CRITICALLY CHOOSE AND IMPLEMENT INTERVENTIONS TO ACHIEVE

PRACTICE GOALS AND ENHANCE CAPACITIES OF CLIENTS AND
CONSTITUENCIES

At GAL we help the foster care Social Workers choose and

implement interventions and goals for the families to successfully

complete in order to start the process of regaining custody of their
children.

APPLY KNOWLEDGE OF HUMAN BEHAVIOR AND THE SOCIAL

ENVIRONMENT, PERSON-IN-ENVIRONMENT, AND OTHER
MULTIDISCIPLINARY THEORETICAL FRAMEWORKS IN INTERVENTIONS
WITH CLIENTS AND CONSTITUENCIES

Individuals home environments usually interferes with their actions

and behaviors. If their home environment is chaotic, they usually

tend to act out and have behavior problems. If the home
environment is usually calm and organized, then their tends to be
less behavior problems.

USE INTER-PROFESSIONAL COLLABORATION AS

APPROPRIATE TO ACHIEVE BENEFICIAL PRACTICE OUTCOMES

At GAL we encourage the families to work on their case plans. We

let them know that we are here to help if they run into any
complications or concerns. We give them the confidence they need
to successfully complete their plans. An intern at our agency did a
PowerPoint presentation for the women in drug court on self- esteem
because many of them have low self- esteem. We want to give them
the confidence they need to achieve their goals.

NEGOTIATE, MEDIATE, AND ADVOCATE WITH AND ON

BEHALF OF DIVERSE CLIENTS AND CONSTITUENCIES

At GAL we do not discriminate against any child or families. We

advocate for the best interest of the child regardless of age, gender,
ethnicity, religion, culture or disabilities.

FACILITATE EFFECTIVE TRANSITIONS AND ENDINGS THAT

ADVANCE MUTUALLY AGREED-ON GOALS

If you communicate with the families and provide words of

encouragement and let them know that they can do anything they
put their mind to then they are more likely to take the process
serious and put effort into their case plan.
