Defenders of the Ming Dynasty. After their loss against the Manchus People (Qing Dynasty), they
flew to Taiwan and after a two years siege expelled the Dutch. Continued to stimulate trade with
surrounding countries which made Taiwan cosmopolitan.

Qinq Dynasty: Part of an eternal empire? (1683 1895)


Corrupt and inefficient officials from China, made Taiwan the land of rebellion and unrest. (15
major uprisings between (1683 and 1843).
