ENGINEERS AS MANAGERS
IN THE FREEPORT AREA OF
BATAAN (FAB)
Statement of the Problem

The general problem of the study is: How effective are engineers as
managers in the Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB)?
Specifically, the study sought answers to the following questions:

1. How may the profile of the respondents be described in terms of:


1.1 age;
1.2 sex;
1.3 civil status;
1.4 highest educational attainment;
1.5 school attended/graduated;
1.6 present position level;
1.7 length of service;
1.8 expertise in the field;

2. How may respondents work-related factors be described in terms of:


2.1 type of organization;
2.2 position in the organization;
2.3 performance rating;
2.4 job appraisal;
3. How may the level of effectiveness of engineers as managers be
describe in terms
of:
3.1 efficiency (Key Performance Index);
3.2 flexibility to meet companys need;
3.3 employer-employee relationship;

4. Is there any significant relationship between engineering and non-


engineering
graduates in terms of managerial effectiveness?

5. Is there any significant relationship between length of service and


field of expertise
of engineers and non-engineers?

6. Is there any significant relationship between highest educational

There is no significant relationship between
engineering and non-engineering
graduates in terms of managerial effectiveness.
