REQUEST LETTER FOR TOOL VALIDATION

Greetings!

We, students of Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering of University of


Eastern Philippines are currently conducting the study titled, “THE IMPACT
OF ON-THE-JOB TRAINING TO THE EMPLOYEE COMPETENCY OF CIVIL
ENGINEERING GRADUATES IN THE UNIVERSITY OF EASTERN
PHILIPPINES – MAIN CAMPUS”. A survey questionnaire as instrument will
be used in the said study. In view of this, the researchers would like your
expertise to validate the attached questionnaire to qualify for conduction.
Knowing your experience in the field of research, we would like to ask for your
help in validating the said instrument before administering it to the participants
of this study.
We have attached here the questionnaire and statement of the problem of the
study. We will be glad to hear your suggestions and comments for the
improvement of the instrument.

OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY

Generally, this study aims to determine the impact of on-the-job

training to the employee competency of Civil Engineering graduates in the

University of Eastern Philippines-Main Campus.

Specifically, this study seeks to complete the following objectives to:

1.) identify the on-the-job training information of the respondents in


terms of:

a.) Nature of the Company

b.) Type of Project

c.) Tasks Assigned during the Training

2.) determine the impact of on-the-job training to the employee


competency of civil engineering graduates in terms of:

a.) Effective Communication

b.) Application and Practice

c.) Interpersonal and Teamworking Skills

d.) Engineering Problem Solving and Decision-Making Skills

e.) Application of Knowledge of Science and Engineering

Principles

f.) Specific Engineering Competency

g.) Professional, Social, and Ethical Responsibilities

3.) determine the relationship between the on-the-job training

information and the impact of on-the-job training to the employee

competency of Civil Engineering graduates in the University of

Eastern Philippines-Main Campus

Scoring and Interpretation of Data

The scoring and interpretation will be based on categorizing and

quantification. The data gathered using the questionnaire will be treated and

analyzed based on the statistical tools that will be used. The demographic

profile of the respondents will just be recorded but this will not be treated as

independent variable. The on-the-job training information will be categorized

and quantified, thus, will attain the majority. For the determination of

employee competency, corresponding weighted mean will be interpreted by 5-

point Likert Scale as follows:

4.20 – 5.00 5 Very Highly Competent

3.40 – 4.19 4 Highly Competent

2.60 – 3.39 3 Competent

1.80 – 2.59 2 Less Competent

1.0 – 1.79 1 Incompetent
