close to the Krakatau volcanic complex.

This coarse-grained layer contains
abundant reworked and generally poorly
sorted, broken shell and other biotic
remains and is in most cases found
associated with pumice containing tephra
 Ash was deposited all over the area
near Krakatau and as far east as Batavia
(Simkin and Fiske, 1983).
