Ethical Code

-Dexters ethical code is outlined in the show as the Code of Harry

-Dexters Adoptive father, Harry, created a code of ethics for Dexter

so that he can kill victims without being caught.

-Dexter uses the Code of Harry to kill people who are guilty of a crime
but have been ruled innocent in court, or who have just evaded the
police.

Personal Beliefs

-Dexters personal beliefs follow suit with the Code of Harry, only kill
if it is justified

-Dexter has an Antisocial Personality Disorder, so he has a disregard

for other people (except his wife and children).

-His antisocial personality disorder makes it easier for him to cope

with murder, also making it easy to follow the Code of Harry.
Relationships

-Dexter makes a living as a blood spatter analyst for the Miami metro
police department.

-Dexter is Married to Rita Morgan, who he has one child with but also
has two stepchildren.

-Dexter has a relationship with his father, who he often sees in

visions. His father, Harry, is dead, but Dexter has delusions of Harry
giving him advice.
Situations Dexter has Encountered

-While in Narcotics Anonymous, Dexter meets somebody named Lila

West, who is similar to Dexter. Dexter and Lila eventually have a
romantic relationship, leading to Lila finding out about Dexters
murderous habits which Lila somehow accepts. Soon, Dexter
realizes she is somewhat crazy, when Lila threatens to harm Dexters
stepchildren. This causes Dexter to kill her to keep his stepchildren
safe.

Philosophical Perspective

Epistemology: the investigation of what separates justified beliefs

from opinion.

-I believe that Dexter acts under epistemology because his beliefs

are mostly justified and typically doesnt act under the influence of
opinion.
Personal Belief

-I Dont agree with his actions because murder is wrong but I

understand why he believes it is right to do so. I would differ because
I do not have the desire to kill, so I would not go as far as to murder
somebody.

-The advice that Dexter would give me is that it is okay to take the
situation into your own hands, even if you have to kill somebody.
Other Characters

-Rita (Wife of Dexter): Very sweet and quiet lady who keeps to herself
mostly. She doesnt know about Dexters killings and doesnt tolerate
being treated poorly.
Other Characters

-Debra Morgan (Dexters sister): Out-going cop who isnt scared of

danger and faced much adversity throughout the entire show.
Other Characters

-Harry Morgan (Dexters father): Deceased, advises Dexter on all of

his kills and makes sure Dexter has his head straight through visions.
