Group.
O A collection of individual who have regular
contact and frequent interaction mutual
influence and work to gather to achieve
common set of goal called Group.
O Example: class, community etc.
In- group, Out group
O In-group is a social group to which a person
psychologically identifies as being a member.
O Out group is social group with which an
individual doesnt identify.
O Example: people may find it psychologically
meaningful to view themselves according to their
race, age, gender etc.
O It has been found that psychologically
membership of social groups and categories is
associated with a wide variety of phenomena.
Primary group
O Primary group typically a small social group
whose members share close, personal
enduring relationship.
O Example: family, childhood family.
O Primary group play important role in the
development of personal identity.
Secondary group
O Secondary group interact on less personal
level than in primary and their relationship
temporary rather then long lasting.
O Secondary group established to perform
function and peoples role are more
interchange able.
O Example: relationship with patient.
Reference group
O A group in which an individual or an other
group is compared.
O Reference group used in order to evaluate
and determine the nature of given individual
or an other group characteristics.
O Example: two groups in a class.
O Reference group act as a frame of reference
to which people always refer to evaluate
their achievement and ambitions.
Cast group
O It is a rigid system of social distinction.
O On the basis of cast a number of groups in a
society.
Ethic group
Ethics group
O The body of moral principles or values
governing or distinctive of a particular
culture or group.
O A complex of moral percepts held or role of
conduct followed by an individual.
O Example: a personal ethics.`
