OBJECTIVES:

The fraction of the total production capacity to

be allocated to each individual line.
The production schedules so as to maximize to
overall profits.
Introduction :
For the low labor cost & other facilities, last
15-20 years apparel industry in Bangladesh
are highly growth. In the apparel industry, a
successful manufacturer must make efficient
use of limited resources to meet dynamic
customer demand as customer preference
change on a seasonal or monthly basis. For
implementing this prospect, a production
schedule is enough.
General problem:
 The production scheduling of an apparel
industry is very important to meet the
demand with respect to time & other
resources. But in practically there is no
practice of scheduling in most factories. Due
to improper schedule they loss working
hour & profitability.

 Some factories have no any planning

section. Lack of proper planning to meet the
order of buyers & their implementation
become very cumbersome.
 Power problem is burning issue to
develop the apparel industry in
Bangladesh. Unscheduled load-shedding
is a culprit which hampers the timely
manufacturing.

 The dominating problem in the apparel

industry of Bangladesh is labor agitation.
The workers think that they are deprived
from their rights. They want standard
salaries & wages and other benefit.
Literature review:
An integrated approach is used to clarify
the critical issues of scheduling and
replenishment planning in an advanced
inventory system instead of traditional
inventory models using differential
method. [1]
Also use just-in-time (JIT) operations
also improve product quality of the
supply chain. [1]

with stock-dependent selling rate; Published online: 1 December 2006 # Springer-Verlag London Limited 2006
Integrated two-stage production-
inventory model for the buyer and the
supplier with stock dependent selling
rate. [1]
Here consider imperfect items & JIT
multiple deliveries. Use time-
weighted-inventory approach to
analyze holding cost. [1]

The scheduling and replenishment policy
of the integrated inventory system can be
regarded as the functions of defective
rate of production process, stock-
dependent factor and JIT
implementation. [1]

Successful just-in-time(JIT) production

has substantial advantages and benefits
that can be partially obtained from
eliminating waste.[1]

This article established a model of an
apparel system characterized by co-
existence of two production lines(quick
lines and regular lines). [2]
They find out the total capacity of each
production line & made a production
schedule for maximizing overall profits.
[2]
They predict future demand using past
data by the help of Monte Carlo-
simulation. [2]

Problem Formulation
The goal of this problem is to find
production capacity or total capacity
and the scheduling strategy, so as to
maximize the manufacturing profits,
which are defined as total revenue less
material costs, cut, make and trim
costs (CMT cost), inventory and WIP
holding costs, and shipping costs.
Absence factors in the article:
Breakdown will be occurred in
working hour.
If we fail to meet schedule delivery
date, cost will be high.
Lack of proper scheduling & line
balancing injury of worker will be
increased.
Sometimes quality may be decreased
for maintaining schedule time.
Profit will be decreased.
