CASE PRESENTATION

Female
23 years old
Hispanic
From Parkton, NC
Currently on Probation
PROBLEM STATEMENT

The client came to Southeastern Family Violence Center with her probation officer to do
a Rapid Rehousing Intake, she was approved for the program.
Being accepted into the program means the client would meet with client once a month
and call once a month as a check. They have option of attending financial literacy.
Although being approved, there is certain criteria that need to be considered since the
client is on probation for indecent liberties with a minor.
The case manager and probation manager have to work together to find suitable housing
that is in her budget and that does not violate the terms of her parole.
The client is currently sleeping in the Waffle House awaiting housing.
SERVICES PROVIDED

Approved for Rapid Rehousing


(Includes monetary assistance for monthly rent, utilities, deposit, and application fee.
Financial Literacy classes with Transitional Housing Coordinator.
Housing bucket ( Mop or broom, paper towels, dish liquid and etc. )
STRENGTHS & LIMITATIONS

Strengths
She is very persistent, she calls or comes to the office everyday with new addresses for us to go
take a look at.
Determined to not let her past affect her future.
Limitations
she knows she has certain criteria that she has to abide by because of her probation terms. She
keeps choosing these areas that violate her probation.
She has limited transportation (PO and Aunt), so she can not look in other areas.
The client is currently sleeping in the Waffle House awaiting housing.
ASSESSMENT GOALS

The client would like start her life over. She doesnt want her past mistakes to affect her
future.
She would like to have stable housing and then find a job. She knows its going to be hard
because of her past but she has hope.
Eventually, she is going to start saving up to buy a car.
BIASES

I think I was uncomfortable working with her at first because of past. However, she was
unable to tell so. I treated her like I treated my other clients.
As the interview progressed, I got comfortable talking to her. I realized because I have
never assessed anyone in her position.
LIFE EXPERIENCES

The client realized that her actions were despicable and is looking to start her life over.
She is tired of everyone judging her but she wants to give people something good to say
when they hear her name.
She decided it was time to get her life together.
STAFF RECOMMENDATIONS

The agencys best recommendation is to empower the client to strive for what they
want.
After applying for rapid rehousing, the client should keep in contact with agency on
progress and attend Literacy Classes.
It was discussed of any job opportunities, we would the client know of them.
