Fall Of Rome
By Jaideep Singh, Robby Page, and Zak Boggs
#1 Sickness
#1 Reason - Sickness and disease, (quote)
Many of the wealthy had water brought to their
homes through lead pipes. Previously the aqueducts had
even purified the water but at the end lead pipes were
thought to be preferable. The wealthy death rate was
very high (Fall of the Roman Empire).
Z
Why Sickness?
Cannibalism created by being starved for too long transfers diseases.

Rotting corpses also increased sickness.

Wealthy died from lead poisoning.

Cramped apartments for the middle class of society made easy for spread of disease
to one another throughout the complex.

Migrants from other lands brought with them diseases, sometimes new ones .

Smallpox were common and contagious

#2 Political corruption
Reason #2 Political Corruption, (quote)

One of the most difficult problems was choosing a new

emperor. Unlike Greece where transition may not have been smooth
but was at least consistent, the Romans never created an effective
system to determine how new emperors would be selected (Fall of
the Roman Empire).
Z
Why Political Corruption?
In Rome political violence was very common, because if someone took over as ruler
and not everyone was in favor with him, he was often murdered or killed.

Another common event was if the emperor made a bad decision, that lead to his
assassination for being vulnerable, and making a mistake with the military that lead to
a attack on the empire.

sometimes if an emperor made a law or rule that offended many people there could
be a large revolt against that empire and emperor, usually revolts led to never ending
wars and other problems.
#3 Military
Reason #3 Military, (quote)

The empire had to begin hiring soldiers recruited

from the unemployed city mobs or worse from foreign
countries. Such an army was not only unreliable, but
very expensive. The emperors were forced to raise
taxes frequently which in turn led again to increased
inflation (Fall of the Roman Empire).
R
Why Military?
There wasn't enough people in the army.

The rise of christianity caused soldiers to bail in change for peace.

The empire wasted their money on outsiders, who protected the border, many forced
their payment form the Romans or else they would leave the alliance or attack the
empire.

Using money on the military left few resources for things like , housing, roads, and
aqueducts
