Chhattisgarh, the recently formed state


engraved out of Madhya Pradesh in 2009 has a
distinct geographical and enlightening
distinctiveness.
The state of Chhattisgarh shares its boundaries
with 6 states which are Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh,
Orissa, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Andhra
Pradesh.
The state proliferates in the affluence
of cultural heritage, monuments, rock
art sites and archaeological antiquities.
Chhattisgarh is the treasure house of Stone Age
mans rock paintings. These offer a fresh
perspective on the lives of ancient people lived,
their cultures and social interests.
The environment and the shades of nature come
alive through age old rock paintings. The rock
paintings of Chhattisgarh can be spotted in more
than 31 sites across the state. These reveal the life
and culture of a civilization that lived years ago.

and folk dramas.

Chhattisgarhi was known as
Khaltahi to the nearby hill-people
and as Laria to Sambalpuri and
Oriya speakers.
Chhattisgarh is a storage house of
literature, performing crafts and arts
all of which derives its sustenance
and substance from the day-to-day
life experiences of its folks.
Chhattisgarh is famous for the rich cultures of
Chhattisgarh amidst crusty cuisine, vivacious dances,
great religions, melodious music, kind people, amiable
languages, sparkling fairs & festivals and marvellous arts
& crafts. Its unique approach towards dance, cuisine, and
music which make it different from others.
Traditional crafts comprises
painting, bell metal craft,
woodcarving, tribal jewellery and
bamboo ware.
It has a rich literary heritage with roots
which lie deep in the historical and
sociological movements of the region.
Chhattisgarh is home to a number of types
of tribal in India.
It also has India's oldest tribal communities and the
earliest tribals have been living in Bastar for over 10,000
years. Since the time, the Aryans occupied the Indian
mainland and the rich plains became war-infested and
de-forested for agriculture.
Dances are the chief means of the celebration of
the tribals. These folk dances also represent the
community affairs, characterized by robustness and
earthiness.
In preserving the country's heritage, the
