who you respect, who you connect with and whose company you
enjoy. Perhaps your ever best friend, colleague or teacher etc.
This may be a relationship from the past, or one that exists today.

What is about this person that sets them apart from others
What do they specifically do?
How do they interact
What to Expect

Be open to candid & constructive discussion
The best leaders and coworkers make us
feel like we can achieve great things
Although higher levels of technical
competence and IQ are important for
task, they have little relation to how we
feel about working with/for someone.
The skills and abilities that govern how
well we work together are largely a result
of EQ-based skills and abilities
WHAT IS
EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE?
EQ is not
being nice
Being emotional
Personality
The opposite of IQ
EQ is not only one thing. It is about understanding
emotions, impulses, and drives, and intelligently handling
these to enhance performance and relationships.
Intentionality is the process of changing your bodys natural
emotional reactivity into self-valued behavior.
Emotional Intelligence (EQ or EI) is a term created by two researchers
Peter Salavoy and John Mayer and popularized by Dan Goleman
in his 1996 book of the same name.

Solovey & Mayer

Emotional intelligence is the ability to perceive emotions, to
access and generate emotions so as to assist thought..

In practical terms, this means being aware that emotions

can drive our behavior and impact people (positively and
negatively), and learning how to manage those emotions
both our own and others especially when we are under
pressure.
EQ is about being able to:
Recognize your own feelings and those of
others.
Lift your mood and motivate yourself
Manage your emotions internally and in your
relationships with others.
Interpersonal Intelligence

Is the knowledge of dealing with others. You can be

intelligent in identifying what other people are feeling and
also the feeling between others. It can help you stay in tune
with others, empathize, communicate and influence.

With Interpersonal Intelligence you can

inspire others and develop trust
Intrapersonal Intelligence

It is the self-knowledge. You can identify what is going on

inside you, and consider what you need to do.
It helps you make sense of the things you do, the thoughts
you have and the feelings you feel.

With intrapersonal Intelligence you can begin to take

control of your self and your emotions.
